WikiLeaks Founder Says Next Target Is Major US Bank

(Nov. 30) -- WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange says big business is next.
Early next year, WikiLeaks will publish tens of thousands of internal documents from a major U.S. bank, exposing the institution's rampant corruption and unethical practices and executives' brazen self-interest, Assange said in an exclusive interview with Forbes magazine.
"It will give a true and representative insight into how banks behave at the executive level in a way that will stimulate investigations and reforms," Assange said in an interview conducted before this past weekend's leak of diplomatic memos.
"It's like the Enron e-mails," he said, referring to thousands of e-mails that came out at trial revealing sometimes haltingly selfish decisions made by the former energy firm's executives.
Assange won't disclose which bank or what specifically the documents say, but he calls the upcoming release a "megaleak" that will have the greatest impact of any WikiLeaks revelations so far. "And they're only going to increase," he said.
WikiLeaks plans a wave of new leaks from the corporate sector, he said, including damaging documents from pharmaceutical companies, energy and oil companies and many banks.
