Anderszewski in Japan
Sunday 18 November 2007

Anderszewski has just completed a tour of Japan. As well as two recitals and a play/direct collaboration in Tokyo, he gave public masterclasses and was interviewed by the well-known Japanese neuroscientist Kenichiro Mogi on matters musical. There were also de rigueur CD signings and an article in the leading music magazine Ongaku No Tomo, whose December edition features Polish music and the Anderszewski/Szymanowski link.

This was not Anderszewski's first time in Japan, but his enthusiasm for the country increases with each visit. 'One should perform there for the quality of the pianos, the refinement of the food, and the people,' he advises. 'I just love Japan.'

The photo shows Anderszewski with Japanese pianist Yuki Kurashima discussing Mozart's Piano Sonata KV310. The masterclass was given at Hukuju Hall in Tokyo.
