2009年、島根・浜田市で発生した女子大学生死体遺棄事件で、女子大学生が行方不明になって、26日で丸1年となる中、依然、犯人逮捕につながる有力な手がかりはつかめていない。浜田市の島根県立大学の1年生だった平岡 都さん(当時19)は2009年10月26日午後9時すぎ、市内のアルバイト先から学生寮に帰る途中、行方がわからなくなった。その後、市内からおよそ30km離れた広島県の臥龍山で、頭部など遺体の一部が見つかった。25日夜は、浜田市で平岡さんが行方不明になった同じ時間帯にあわせて、警察が検問を行い、通行する市民などにあらためて情報提供を呼びかけた。行方不明から丸1年、警察は延べ6万人を動員して捜査を続けているが、有力な情報はなく、犯人逮捕に至っていない。
