Nick Lachey Is Engaged Again, but Are He and Jessica Simpson Meant to Be?

Nick Lachey is Engaged Again, But Are He and Jessica Simpson Meant to Be?Maybe I'm still living in a blissful state of teenage delusion, but I haven't given up hope that one day, my favorite 'Newlyweds' stars, Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, will reunite.

My mom was quick to point out that if she were Vanessa Minnillo, Nick's current fiancée, she wouldn't appreciate some gossipy writer wishing for her man to get back with his ex-wife. Really, Vanessa, it's not that I have a problem with you. I just think that as cliché as it might be to say this, Nick and Jessica belong together.

Nick and Jessica were a perfect example of Hollywood love at its finest. She was the naturally pretty, wholesome pop star, and he was the buff, handsome boy band frontman. They met at the Hollywood Christmas Parade in 1998, and despite their seven-year age difference, it was love at first sight.

They had undeniable chemistry from the start, whether they were singing duets or hosting variety shows together. Jessica was notorious for for being a virgin, a fact that was widely discussed up until the night of her picture-perfect marriage to Nick, a very patient, non-virgin gentleman. Jessica's father later mortified us all when he said she'd waited until marriage to have sex, and "now she [could] sing about it until she's blue in the face!"

LeAnn Rimes' Ex, Dean Sheremet, Makes Wedding Plans with New Fiancee

By Christine Fenno  Posted Nov 13th 2010 02:31PM
Dean Sheremet is the onetime backup dancer -- now a chef at New York hot spot Nobu 57 -- who married country singer LeAnn Rimes in 2002 and divorced her earlier this year, after news broke that his wife had fallen in love with married actor Eddie Cibrian during a 2008 TV movie shoot.

With months of sordid headlines behind him, Sheremet is officially moving on. The 29-year-old has just gotten engaged to his live-in girlfriend, fashion photographer Sarah Silver. The two are planning a summer wedding, according to Us.

Rimes' ex reportedly popped the question to his 28-year-old fiancee Friday morning, presenting her with a three-carat, antique 1950's ring.

"She is an amazing, talented woman," Sheremet told Us readers in July about his new love, a few weeks after his divorce was finalized. "We have a lot in common and we are both very happy."

And LeAnn Rimes, via Twitter, says she has nothing but happiness for them.

Heidi Klum Wears Mondo's 'Project Runway' Dress

By Christine Fenno  Posted Nov 13th 2010 01:28PM
Heidi Klum is a woman of her word! At the Los Angeles premiere of the ballet-themed Natalie Portman film 'Black Swan,' designer Mondo Guerra's swan song creation -- a hotly debated polka-dot maxi-dress that he sent down the catwalk in the season 8 finale of 'Project Runway' -- stole the show on the red carpet.

Heidi Klum, 37, slithered into Guerra's black and white design for the event at Grauman's Chinese Theater, and she was all smiles while flaunting the sexy open back and revised (now sleeveless) silhouette.

In the October season finale episode of 'Runway,' Klum was adamant about loving the flamboyant design and wanting to wear it. Her opinion was shared by Jessica Simpson, guest judge for the Fashion Week episode, who said she was "obsessed" with Mondo's dots.

Eventually, the panel came to a consensus as the two other judges, fashion insiders Michael Kors and Nina Garcia (who called Guerra's line "overwhelming") leaned toward championing the subtler collection of Gretchen Jones, a Portland designer with a much earthier style.

Mondo may be having the last laugh now. "As I was packing to come back to Denver my cell phone rang and a bright, cheery, 'Hello' greeted me, with a German accent," he tells People.com. "I wasn't sure who it was, but the next thing I knew, the voice on the other end was asking me, 'Do you have my dress?'"

Harrison Ford Wishes Han Solo Had Been Killed Off in a 'Star Wars' Sequel

By The Editors at MovieFone  Posted Nov 13th 2010 12:48PM
Harrison Ford, who's making the rounds promoting 'Morning Glory,' doesn't do much to combat the "curmudgeon" label he wears around his neck, although he does have a certain fondness for poking a little fun at 'Star Wars' creator George Lucas, so it's pretty tough to complain.

The latest dollop of Ford crankiness comes from a new ABC interview in which the actor, 68, bemoans the lack of a Han Solo death scene in the third 'Star Wars' film:

"As a character, he was not so interesting to me," Ford admits during a sit-down with movie critic Peter Travers. "I thought he should have died in the last one."

And he follows up with an amusing quip about how Lucas would've had trouble selling "dead Han" toys. Oh, Harrison, you rascally little cynic, you.

Demi Lovato: Written Out of Her Own Show?

By Christine Fenno  Posted Nov 13th 2010 11:13AM
Disney Channel executives have devised a solution to a major programming dilemma: How do you produce new episodes of Demi Lovato's show, without Demi?

The 18-year-old's recent retreat from the spotlight to enter rehab for "emotional and physical issues" seemed to put her series 'Sonny with a Chance' on hold indefinitely -- just as it was gearing up to resume production in mid-January for a third season.

Now, Variety is reporting that the network plans to stay on schedule, but rewrite scripts around guest stars and other characters in the ensemble, even though the show's first two seasons centered on the Sonny Monroe character, and the series (which premiered in February 2009) is a Demi Lovato vehicle.

The revamps in the writing will bring more focus to the show-within-the-show, 'So Random!', according to People.com.

Famous Fans Honor Tina Fey in Washington, D.C.

By Christine Fenno  Posted Nov 13th 2010 09:08AM
As this year's recipient of the prestigious Mark Twain Prize, writer-producer-actor Tina Fey was feted this week at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., for her contributions to American humor.

It's a body of work that includes years of leading the 'Saturday Night Live' writing team, the creation of '30 Rock' and her Liz Lemon character, blistering Sarah Palin impersonations, and feature films such as 'Baby Mama' and 'Mean Girls.' The tribute will air as a 90-minute PBS special tomorrow (9 p.m. EST).

A slew of famous friends brought the funny, stepping onstage to pay homage to, and poke fun at, their comedy goddess. Steve Martin, Amy Poehler, Steve Carell, Jimmy Fallon, Betty White, Jon Hamm and Jennifer Hudson were joined by 'SNL' boss Lorne Michaels -- who named Fey the first female head writer in series history -- and '30 Rock' co-stars Tracy Morgan and Jane Krakowski.

(After the jump, check out a string of stars speaking out, in all silliness and occasional seriousness, about the Emmy winner's selection as a Mark Twain Prize honoree.)

In this PBS promo clip, Fey answers questions about her improv comedy past ("It's freeing to fail and realize you didn't die"), her favorite comedians, and the pernicious dessert she scorns most...pie.

Hug's live-in girlfriend, Jennifer Bell, spoke to mourners, according to RadarOnline, about her heartbreak in the aftermath of losing her "perfect" partner.

"I will miss every night where we would lie in bed and before he went to sleep he would whisper in my ear and say I love you." She added that he "loathed" being asked about his 2009 stint on ABC's 'The Bachelorette,' during which he competed for the affections of Jillian Harris.

The grieving parents, Denise and Bertrand Hug, made the bold choice to share the contents of their son's suicide note with those in attendance.
