Duhamel went head-to-head with John Racener, who took home $5,545,955. Duhamel's exact winnings come to $8,944,310. The final duo lasted over an hour-and-a-half together before Racener went all-in with a suited K-8 and lost. Duhamel entered heads-up play with six times as many chips as Racener, allowing him to play with an edge.
Duhamel is a 23-year-old college dropout began his poker career online. His mother later admitted concern when he quit school at 19 to focus on poker.
"It's not like a common (job), it's not something safe," she said. She added that she would continue her own job because, "I'm not the one who won."
