Welcome to the
Pokemon: Best Wishes genga/douga art gallery!
On this page I feature my collection of authentic pencil art used to
create
the "modern" anime -- in a yet unaired episode. As cel production
ceased during
the Gold/Silver era (switching to digital inking and coloring), now
genga and douga are the only hand-drawn artwork one can find for any
recent anime episodes. Here you will see a newer animation process (as
opposed to the late 90's process seen in the Episode 14 galleries),
with storyboard pages, rough sketches, and more easily-inked cleaner
sketches. See where the animators made little mistakes too! Hey, we're
all human...I guess?
In these 95 sketches, you will see a scene unfold where a Koaruhi
swoops down, attacks Mijumaru, Dento, and Iris, steals Ash's hat, and
terrifies Meguroko.
At least, I think so! Guess we have to wait and see when this episode
airs - probably in winter 2011! :D They are
probably not in the exactly correct order since I have no episode to go
off of, but I've done my best using intuiton and some numbering on a
few of the pages.
The comments I've added are my
reasoning for why I put these in the order I did. Without an episode to
base it off of I really have no idea what's correct!
I guess we will wait and see!

...aaand the attack rebounds off Mijumaru's shell into Iris' face.
Who's Zuruggu is that?!
Note the C-72 -- this is the earliest number on a page I've got, that's
why this scene with Dento is first!

Mijumaru is brave but can't take it for long. Notice C-73 on this page,
our indication this shot comes after the one above.
Koaruhi swoops in?!
And Ash's hat is swiped as he is distracted by the other scene!
Notice C-122 on the "storyboard" page. That's the third indication of a
number. Also note the #20, probably the episode number.
The animator who drew this page must have been wearing nostalgia
goggles, because they messed up and drew first Ash's jacket wrong, then they fixed that,
but not his hat!
Here, you did it right! Good! :D

Hey Ash! I've got a cute fluffy butt, oh, and also, your hat!
And I'm livin' it up like it's 1990 all over again!
Guessing this scene comes next due to Koaruhi's wing position.
None of these scenes are numbered, but if I was right about the last
scene, Meguroko is starting to feel uncomfortable right around now.
By the way, who's Meguroko is that, eh?

This duckling is picking us off one by one! Let's bolt!
This is the next scene with a number (C-267, a bit further down) which
is far after the last one, so I am gonna assume it comes after the
scary duckling chased off the er, crocodile.
Note the shell is right next to Mijumaru, who probably dropped it right
beside him after being shot.
YAYS :D
Wait.
I got shot!
That sh*t ain't cool!!

Not exactly sure what happens here between C-267 where Mijumaru builds
himself up into a serious buisness frenzy and C-268 where he is
suddenly flipping out, other than a mood swing.
Oh right! That duck is HORRIFYINGLY SCARY!! Aaaagh!
Aaaagh! Baby duckling!
Keep it away!!!
Nooooooo baby birdies!!! Noooooo
Okay enough of that. This is war! Or a temper tantrum! Same thing I
guess!
Aaaaaaand he winds up for the pitch...
Aaaaaand BOOM goes the dynamite.
Remember how earlier the shell he picked up was right before him --
giving me the indication that shell-drop is unrelated to this temper
tantrum.
What have I done!

Well, that's all there is for now! Think the order is accurate?! I have
no idea.
