And that's just fine with Michael Vick. The league's top passer, who was suspended from the NFL for all of 2007 and 2008, isn't in a rush to return from the torn rib cartilage he suffered against Washington 17 days ago.
"It doesn't make sense to try to rush back and play and be hurting," Vick said during a radio appearance. "The movement's still not there. The mobility's still not there in my upper chest. We've just got to take our time and re-evaluate the situation and make sure we do what's best for the team. ... The team has really jelled right now. There's no reason to just break that up. We have a bye next week, which makes it even better."
Vick's comfort level with watching from the sideline has increased with the fine play of Kolb, who had a 133.8 passer rating and three touchdowns in last week's 31-17 victory over previously rolling Atlanta. Kolb also quarterbacked the Eagles past San Francisco the previous Sunday.
"It was great to see Kolb, over the last two weeks, go out and just have two magnificent games," Vick said. "We know what Kevin can do."
Vick, who was Kolb's backup until the latter suffered a concussion in the first half of the opener against Green Bay, isn't worried that coach Andy Reid won't return him to the starting role when he's ready. Since Vick was hurt against the Redskins, Reid has maintained that Vick is the starter when healthy.
"It's an awesome feeling," Vick said. "It goes to show the trust and confidence (the Eagles) have in me. In return, I'm going to show them that they can continue to trust me and they can continue to count on me, week in and week out."
Reid said that Vick, who only took some scout team reps when he returned to practice last Friday, will take more work this week and will be the backup against the Titans after only being available in an emergency against the Falcons.

I want vick to play; hopefully he gets hurt, becomes a cripple, and is thrown out like the piece of trash he is, only to find himself being slowly eaten by stray dogs and hobos. I would pay to watch that
