Try winning a game....that would help.
All that money and glamour of its players dating actresses and models ala Rodriguez, Jeter and Swisher ain't gonna get the Yanks a pennant, much less
a World Series title. These hired guns are there for the money, not the desire to play and use their talents to the fullest. And Texeira is mighty happy he would be home pretending to nurse his hamstring as he watches his teammates falter in Game 5.
Isn't Steve Phillips the same guy who went "out on a limb" and picked the Yanks and Phils to meet in the World Series? So did so many other so-called experts. What a bunch of BOZOS! I've been telling my baseball buddies all year long there are no great teams in baseball today. There are no very good teams in baseball today. As proof I continually brought up the San Diego Padres. The Padres had the best record in the National League for 75% of the year. And the Padres, outside of their excellent relief pitching, are a sad excuse for a baseball team! As they showed down the stretch, they are a pathetic baseball team. And yet this bunch had the best record in the Nat'l League for most of the year. No, there are no "Murderer's Row", there is no "Big Red Machine" or the Pittsburgh Pirates "We Are Family" teams in baseball today. And there hasn't been for some time. Look at the American League teams with the best records this year, the Yankees and the Rays. The Rays have already been eliminated and the Yankees are about to join them. Are the Texas Rangers a great team? Geez, not even close. But they are "good enough" to beat the Yanks and Rays. Yep, average teams can win a World Series now and probably for many years to come. The Padres almost did it! Talk about mediocrity in baseball. How 'bout below even that! Baseball, catch the fever. Yuck!
