Spoilers Anonymous In-Depth: 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Private Practice'
by Isabelle Carreau, posted Oct 19th 2010 2:00PM
This in-depth version of the column goes hand in hand with our weekly spoilers column, in which we supply you with the dirt on some of the more popular shows on the air.
This week, we discuss spoilers recently released for the upcoming episodes of 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Private Practice.' Yes, it's two for the price of one this week!
The Oct. 28 episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' will feature a documentary camera crew filming a documentary about the staff's recovery since the shooting. This episode is rumored to involve a major development for Arizona and Callie.
The episode will reportedly be told from the camera crew's point of view, which could allow for some funny instant reactions from the crew when meeting the doctors. It is unknown if the narration will be done by a camera crew member but that could help explain how people outside the hospital learned of the horrific event and what they think. Did news show report every gruesome details, including the amazing surgeries doctors had to perform to survive? Was one of the doctors portrayed as a hero in the news? What will they think of Cristina Yang when they first meet her? She's not the most welcoming person.
As for the Arizona and Callie news, it's supposed to be positive. I doubt Arizona will decide she is ready to have kids since a few months ago, she was dead-set against. To prepare for kids, maybe the couple could get a dog? That's sort of a big step, no? Maybe buy a house where they will live alone together? Or perhaps an engagement? That said, ANY good Arizona/Callie news is welcome. If you have a theory about their major development, share it in comments below.
A new love triangle will be revealed in a November sweeps episode: Lexie, Alex and April.
Reading this spoiler bummed me as I'm not a fan of Lexie and Alex. Actually, I'm not much of an Alex fan since Izzie wrecked him (she was my less favorite character). However, more Lexie/April competition might be amusing.
I do not wish any harm to the characters of the TV series I watch, but I'm happy Charlotte will finally get a gripping and important storyline. It will also allow KaDee Strickland to show off her acting range, which we haven't seen on the show. The patient who'll attack Charlotte will be played by Nicholas Brendon. (Yes, Xander from 'Buffy.')
Charlotte does look quite beaten up in the picture on the left. The attack and rape were surely extremely brutal. Poor Charlotte will be pretty messed up after this, as anyone would.
She is usually very well-guarded, doesn't share much about her past and doesn't let her emotions out much, either. It will be interesting to see how she copes with this horrific event and what her healing process will be like.
I wouldn't be surprised if her decision not to tell Cooper is because she is afraid he will not see her as the woman she was before the rape. Knowing Cooper, I'm sure he'll be supportive when he eventually discovers what really happened. At least, Charlotte will confide in Addison, which will allow Charlotte to get a sounding board, a shoulder to cry on, support, etc.
'Private Practice' airs Thursdays at 10PM ET on ABC. 'Grey's Anatomy airs on Thursdays at 9PM ET on ABC.

I love Grey's anatomy but I do without the making out between Callie and Arizona. I think that will be the down fall of the show. I am not agains gays 2 of my best friends are gay. But I don't believe in the making out for everyone to see. Keep it home

I could not agree more. It is discusting to see them making out, I love Grey's Anatomy but do not like to see "Gay's" flauted in my face on a program that my grandchildren watch.

Totally agree

That's fine as long as heteros also don't kiss on screen.

Not appealing to see callie and az even look at each other much less being shown in bed together and kissing . I agree, keep it at home.

As far as I can see it is at their home. They are not engaging in any unethical practices while at work. But why shouldn't they show pdas; even heteros do it all the time. It is not always appropriate but they do it all the time...

How can you say that, it is a natural thing for a man and woman to kiss, but very unnatural, perverted and wrong for two women.

I would like to see Callie and Arizona adopt Dale's orphaned daughter from Private Practice. I have not taken that one very well.

I am not watching Private Practice anymore. After last week, when none of those selfish, self-involved doctors would adopt Dell's daughter (instead, sending her into the foster care system) I just can't watch it anymore.

Ok, first of all, it's a tv show. Unfortunately, it shows how people are these days, so self absorbed and selfish.Alot of parents are like this these days, no time for thier own children. And then they wonder why thier kids turn out to be all screwed up.It's really sad.

90% of you need to grow up. Both of these shows are just that, TELEVISION SHOWS. If you don't like the content on either of them, then DON'T WATCH THEM.
As for Callie/Arizona...more power to them. While I am not gay, I believe gay people have the same rights as we do, period. Just because someone is gay, does NOT make them any less of a human being.
The decision for none of the characters to adopt Dell's daughter...well it seemed pretty realistic to me. Sometimes life doesn't go like you think it should.
I love both of these shows and will continue to watch.
Thanks TV Squad peeps for doing all that you do!

I agree that Grey's Anatomy is probably one of the best shows on television. The writing is top notch and the acting is superb. My only complaint is the lesbian relationship between Callie and Arizona. I too believe that seeing these women in compromising positions is way over the top. I don't like gay/lesbian relationships blatantly thrown in my face. I know that my comment will offend the gay/lesbian community, but welcome to the world of the heterosexual community. It seems we will always offend each other.

I don't think anyone said anything about being inhuman, it's just not right for two people of the same sex to be kissing on tv. I have gay friends and they keep in the house. IT'S CALLED RESPECT FOR OTHERS.

Last year was not a good season for Grey's Anatomy until the end. The season finale was great. This season seems to be on tract with good solid stories. Private Practice is a great show. I loved it when they showed Pete at his wedding and you could tell another story line is going to come along I dont think they will stay married. The story with Dell's daughter could be a lead in to a show later on ..... such as she is abused and shows up at the hospital to make matters worse. Addison has been with every man on the show ....she is the clean up woman . I think she is very hurtful . I really like Thursday nights again on the tube.

I agree with the comments about Arizona/Callie. I don't want it in my face. And, yes I could change the channel but other than this story line, I love the show. If I tape it, I can fast foward through it:) I couldn't care less what gays think about what I have to say. It's NOT natural or we would all be born with both sexual organs. We aren't for a reason! I like Grey's Anatomy but can't stand this story line.

I effin LOVE Grey's Anatomy :) and though I am not gay, I love the Callie and Arizona twist...Didn’t realize I liked their union until writers had them feuding lol. (I was bummed) They seem sincerely in love vs the random hooking up of everyone else. I think it’s what separates Grey’s Ant, from other random shows. Some ppl may be close minded and not use to change but hey, come into the new Millennium!! This day in age, the alternative lifestyle is becoming more in more a part of reality. I say two thumbs up, can't wait to see what unfolds with Callie and Arizona in the future.

Personally I really don't want to see anyone doing the nasty on TV, especially during prime time where children are watching. I understand that I don't have to watch it but give me a break sometimes that's all there is.

Oh people, grow up. Get used to seeing gays portrayed as having real relationships and affection and sex lives. Not nearly as much is shown of gay sex life as hetero. I am a 68 year old grandmother, and I think love between any two people is a beautiful thing. If you can watch a man & woman in bed, both naked, and having graphic sex, than you can surely watch two women kiss without blushing. As a hetero myself, I admit I can't imagine having sex with another woman, but I also don't condemn those who do. Gay people did NOT choose to be gay, they were born that way, and someday soon the gene will be discovered and it will be proven once and for all. I only hope I live long enough to see gays totally accepted, and afforded all the rights of straight people. Meanwhile, CHILL people. Live and let live. God created ALL of us, not just straight people!
