At the NFL owners meetings Tuesday, Goodell said no meeting with Favre is planned "but if it is something that would help us get to a conclusion and it is warranted, I will do so."
Goodell also said that there is no timetable for wrapping up the investigation, despite reports that the NFL was looking to have the investigation on the "fast track." On Tuesday, Sterger's manager, Phil Reese, issued a statement on his client's behalf saying, "This is something that allegedly happened two years ago. We don't want a quick resolution, but the proper resolution."
The possibility of a suspension or fine still looms over Favre.
"One of the reasons we instituted the personal conduct policy ... to make everyone understand their responsibilities," Goodell said. "We're not going down a line of speculation and hypothetical situations."
Below, LeCharles Bentley examines The Favre Dilemma.

Favre and the Vikings and Moss put this scandle behind and move forward to Dallas game All must stay in focus for the NFC title and beyond.
Are you nutz? Title game? They are ONE and THREE!!! How does that translate to anything better than 8-8? You guys in minny-soda must get really good weed up there, because your high!! I'm a packer fan and even I think the bears are gonna take it.
Cowboys will win!
This can will be kicked down the road until the season is over, at which point Favre will finally slink away from the game forever, with his streak intact, but his legacy in tatters...
Throw the soap opera star out PERIOD.
Antone else would of been met with NOW. He'll get away with it. Really sad situation. He need's to be dealt with and suffer the consequence's. Goodall's got no gut's.
WOW!! You can sure jump to conclusions fast! Hopefully, you'll never be chosen to serve on a jury.
If the evidence is there...
Leave the commissioner OUT OF ThIS! Investigate the woman and find out her intentions! Usually its the woman looking for a payday because she cant or dont want to WORK!
Joe, I would agree she is likely looking for a big payday, but her intentions are irrelevant. She has nothing to lose here -- Favre does; namely his reputation. He is the famous one, not her.
He has a "track record" from his days with Churma and White "barhopping" in Milw. and they would rent rooms at the Pfister...
Sully, don't forget all his escapades up north in Crivitz, WI.
What people outside Wisconsin don't know is his adventures while with Green Bay, especially the early years were all covered up. Hell, even most Wisconsinites don't know of all of his wrong doings.
Sully and Wayne...ask us if we care. It was okay when Favre was giving the Packers glory years and winning the Super Bowl, though, huh. You didn't feel the need to post this junk then, did ya? Packers didn't have a decent quarterback since Bart Starr before Favre. Now, he's a Viking and has ALLEGATIONS (no facts) against him and you two feel the need to smear him. Pathetic.
Goodell to possibly meet with Favre...what a joke! Nothing will be done, nothing will be accomlished. Just like Goooooooooodell and how he dealt with the M. Vick situation...DISGUSTINGLY!
Amazing the difference in tone and attitude when the scandal is about a famous white football player who is a married grandfather. Compare the difference to when it was a made for tv scandal about a black athlete cheating on his white wife. Talk about bringing out the brimstone and fire to crucify him.
He's TOAST !
If this is "something that allegedly happened two years ago," why is it a critical issue now? The whole thing smells of woman scorned and her hatred trumps her decency. Brett Favre has worked hard and his career defines who he is, obviously, for him to still want to play. If it happened, if it was unwanted, if it was so egregious, why wait TWO YEARS?? And, all of sudden, two years later...and during football season... Give me a break! Favre needs to focus on this season, distraction won't change the outcome of the lawsuit, but it could defeat the legend he has worked so hard to create. Personal indiscretions, if they were any, should be handled away from the news agencies. This woman is not seeking justice, she is seeking revenge and doesn't care about the collateral damage in the path of her tornado. It's all about money, at any cost.
OMG, lovelaurie, did you LISTEN to the voice mail???!! What a laugh...he was practically BEGGING Sterger to come up to his room...he left two voicemails for her,and revolting pictures of his penis, and he got NOWHERE with her...he was probably crying to the Vikings because his ego took a huge hit, getting RE-JECTED in this way. The only woman scorned in this saga is the Drama Queen Favre...
You may rest fully and completely assured that if Favre were African American, this matter would be resolved quickly and very harshly. The racism is obvious and inexcusable. Fair haired Favre will get away with things no African American would.
It is a good thing some of these people are not on a jury deciding the death penalty on someone. All some of these people have heard are ACCUSATIONS and have already sent Favre to the whipping post. I would hope the majority of us would wait and see if it is in fact even true.
