Nobel Peace Prize winners to speak at Soka in Aliso Viejo

ALISO VIEJO – Two Nobel Peace Prize winners will speak at Soka University on Oct. 6, and the public is invited to attend for free, with limited reservations.

Betty Williams and Shirin Ebadi will speak at 10:30 a.m. it the school's recreation center.

Williams won the prize in 1976 for cofounding a Northern Ireland peace organization called Community of Peace People.

Ebadi founded the Defenders for Human Rights Center in Iran. She won the award in 2003 for her work for children's, women's and refugee rights.
