JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Promoting peace is the purpose behind an art exhibition featured in downtown Jackson.
From now until October second the exhibition will be hosted by the Smith Robertson Museum and Cultural Center.
Thirty-six free-standing panels are on display in the Soka Gakkai International or SGI Artistic Expression.
The organization works toward promoting peace, culture and education.
"That's what war does, it totally disrespects humanity so through these exhibits we can empower the people from the grass roots to standup against it and make a change," said Donna Fabian, with the SGI art exhibition.
SGI's Buddhist movement with millions of members from countries all across the world.
