Dave and Odette had been dating for two-and-a-half years. He popped the question over Valentine's Day weekend.
"I [proposed] at a place where we fell in love," the actor told Us. "It was in Santa Barbara [Calif.], and I surprised her with her parents and my parents after [the proposal]. We went to the [hotel] restaurant ... and our parents were there waiting. It was pretty rad! She was very surprised."
As far as family goes, Annable has said he wants a "little hockey team."
"I'm a little bit older than she is ... I'm going gray, I wear cardigans now. It's time, you know, I have the itch."
