Painted with amatory trophies within garlands of berried laurel, reserved on the pointillé ground within gilt lines, the border gilt with oval panels of laurel linked by similar swags

The trophies were most likely painted by Charles Buteux, l'aîné, who is noted as the most prolific painter of trophies and attributes at the Sèvres factory, 1756-82.
