The child, due early next year, will be Rod Stewart's eighth and their second together. In August, the rock legend and his third wife announced she was expecting.
"We were thrilled and delighted to be able to tell Alastair that he was going to be the big brother to a little baby, expected just before Mummy's 40th birthday," the couple told PEOPLE.
Stewart and Lancaster wed in Portofino, Italy, in 2007.
Last year, Stewart told the British press that he and his third wife, 38, were hoping to add more children to his brood.

Why is it old men (celebrities) marry younger woman and need to keep having babies because their wives are so young. Why don't they grow up and marry woman their own age or 10 years younger instead of having babies which nannie most like take care of. Is Rod going to change diapers and raise the child 24 hours a day I doubt it Time for older men to grow up and stop having babies when their children are having kids and they are grandads.

I couldn't agree with you more Pamela. Just because a man CAN continue to reproduce through the wonder of pharmaceuticals, doesn't mean he should.
Pamela , he does it, because he can. And, considering his wealth, this child will lack nothing in life. And, by all accounts Rod is a great Dad. I guess you think its better women get knocked up by men who will abandon them or can't possibly afford to take care of the kids they sire.as long as they are the same age. And bottom line is ALL of these women are willing participants.
I agree Pamela; I think they believe it is a vote to their masculinity that they can still father kids. They dont realize that they may be in the grave when the kid is in high school

I have only read good reports of Rod Stewart as a father. If he has enough love for all of his childred, why shouldn't he and his wife have another child? I say IF you are emotionally and physically there for your children, father on!

has it ever occoured to you that they wanted to give their sweet son a playmate. and so what if a nanny helps out as long as the kids don't call the Nanny mom/dad it's fine and has been done in the entertainment industry for decades

Rod does look good for his age, and that wife has some set of cans! But that being said, it's ridiculous for a 65 year-old man to have a kid! I guess on the brighter side: at least his estate will have plenty of cash, and one day, so will that kid.
