Hong Kong cargo ship, Japanese fishing boat collide, no injury reports

TOKYO, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- A Hong Kong cargo ship collided with a Japanese fishing boat in seas off Kaga city in southwestern Japan's Ishikawa Prefecture early Friday morning, the Kyodo News reported.

No one was injured in the incident which occurred around 1:30 a. m.local time, the report said.

The local Coast Guard based in Tsuruga city in neighboring Fukui prefecture said the two vessels were able to sail normally after the collision and the incident did not lead to an oil leak.

The Hong Kong cargo ship, "Da Ping," was heading toward Tsuruga port while the Japanese fishing boat was dragging a net in fishing when the incident took place. There were 18 people on board the Hong Kong ship, according to local authorities.
