'Raising Sextuplets' Couple Had Long History of Fighting

The 'Raising Sextuplets' family were a picture-perfect model for happiness, but now after learning of the
breakup, a long and ugly history of fighting between the couple was revealed.
According to
PEOPLE, Jenny and Bryan Masche said back in April 2009 even before the cameras turned on that their marriage was far from perfect and that they had already entered marriage counseling.
"We knew marriage was going to be hard no matter what," Jenny said back then when talking about their brutal fights. "We have some ground rules...[including] never go to bed angry. So, there [are] some fights we're up really, really, really late or even all night."
Although friends and family were surprised about their split, some relatives blamed the move from Lake Havusu, AZ to Destin, FL for changing everything.
"I have no idea why they did it," said Jenny's uncle, Sergio Bustamante in Arizona. "There's more support here."
Others like Jenny's brother, Jeff Simbric, thought there was "too much interference from outside people."
"I don't think they put a lot of thought into it," Simbric added.
In the meantime, the couple is back home in Arizona at their parents' homes where they can possibly rehab their relationship.
Jennifer filed for legal separation from her husband, Bryan, earlier this month after his
arrest for domestic violence in Arizona. Masche is seeking sole custody of the couple's children.
According to court records, Masche filed the petition days after Bryan was arrested at her father's home in Cape Verde on Sept. 11 after the pair fought over where to take the children on a trip. In
911 calls, Jennifer's father made comments that hinted the couple was already nearing separation.
When asked whether Masche had become physical with Jenny, the father-in-law said no, but that "she doesn't want him to leave because if he takes three and then he files [for separation], then she's got three kids here and three kids there and then all of a sudden it becomes a bargaining tool."
Court records filed earlier this month in Yavapai County show she is seeking primary custody of the children, who were born in June 2007, with reasonable visitation rights for their father.
Back in 2009, Bryan and Jenny admitted that raising six young children was difficult and caused tension between them. "We have totally brutal fights," Jenny told PEOPLE.
The couple were a "work in progress" and hoped to resolve their marital problems. "When you understand that there's no way out of marriage, that forces you to work on your marriage. If we're going to be stuck with each other for the next 80 years, we better make it good," Bryan added.
The third season for the WE reality series is on hold until further notice.

He was the male version of Kate Gosselin....controlling and nasty. Glad she is getting away from him. Unfortunately for the kids, the parents will probably be fighting over them for the next 18 years.
