I still couldn't find the news of this video, so with that said it is hard to judge whether this video is fake or real. It looks real to me, keep that in mind tho when the impact of the car hits that girl she stood straight in front of the car not diagonal. A lot of you said the car didn't bounce up when ran over her. The driver might have turn the wheels to the left side and probably didn't ran over her but the impact to her backbone is too much, no human can survive backbone crushing or the spinal cord.

It is easy to fake with very little equipment.

    1) Do you think that you would not have seen someone hiding with a vid cam behind your stove?

    2) If you were trying to hide would you be bouncing the vid cam back and forth - nice trick to make it look like accidental home photography but not something you would do if you didn't want to be seen hiding.

    3) The reaction of the girl seem practiced and not natural.

    4) The photographer was ready to run and follow the girl. This action indicates scripted behavior.

    5) The cars fender did not move appreciably in the vertical direction indicating that the impact was not substantial.

    6) You can be 100% certain that a friend or family member saw this video on utube and would have had it removed.

Everyone is saying its fake, mainly because of the fact that she gets sucked under. I agree that in most cases, you would be thrown away from the car, but lets say there was a lot of friction between the asphalt and her shoes. And then i want you to look at how she turns to face the same direction the car is moving. Have you ever had someone hit the back of your knee and it causes you to fall to your knees? If this is the case, i dont see why it cant be real? She doesnt get "sucked" under, she gets "dragged" under. For all you who have experience in computer graphics and video editing, i clearly see where your coming from, and i wouldnt ve surprised if it was edited by some people making a joke. But in my opinion, this video could absolutely be real.

It's so shocking that at first you believe it's real and can't see beyond thoughts of putting yourself in that situation, but it's clearly fake. At the moment the girl gets hit and run over, she easily flips underneath the car as if she didn't have any bones. That clearly shows a change of clip and a doll gets hit and run over, and not the girl.
This must be a cinematography project! It's good, but they shouldn't publicize it as not being fake.

    OKAY.
I was DCFD Firefighter and EMS for 5 years, been FDNY for the past 8. Seen a LOT of car accidents, seen a LOT of brutal mistakes such as this. This is clearly fake.

    1. Her contact point with the car has her going horizontal, she's under the car vertical, completely facing a different direction. Her inertia, and her body direction when the car hits her dictates she would be facing the front of the car, NOT the street that she was running towards.

    2. Had this been legitimate, with the time span of the clip, the amount of blood lost wouldn't be drastic, nor would it look drastic. In the video it shows she's lost a lot of blood already, which is completely inaccurate to real life scenarios. It's not even close to what could be.

    3. The amount of visible damage to her face(even though you can't get a crystal clear shot, you still get a great idea) is nothing compared to her blood loss at the time. Had her head position been accurate, her head would've suffered major trauma and had VERY obvious and clear signs.

    Videos fake. People are idiots.

Yeah its fake -- computer generated. Done pretty well though, but you can just tell for a couple reasons. If it was real, the video would not be allowed on youtube. Also, idk, but if my friend died, i dont think i would still hold the camera and then get her shot as she's dead. And also when the car smacks her, she ends up going under the car and the car doesnt suspense up as if running her over or anything. Maybe this video was an assignment or something. Or just for fun.

In my opinion it's fake. You can do this in After Effects. but if you can put yourself in the scenario you would cross the street by not stopping in the middle. Or if you watch it on a very slow motion you would see that the girl is fading off (like the opacity) when car hits the girl. And you would probably thrown away in a real scenario if you got hit. just my opinion.

    english:

It's fake coz a obvious thing.... the camera STOP when the accident occurs ... look, 1:06 - 1:09... Then the camera continue running, BUT the guy continues filming with the camera focused on the ground ... If he was really running, the image would be completely blurred, filming the sky and ground in a frenzied and fast motion, as is done when running desperately, our arm balances, and not stay still.

else, the camera chases the body. The camera runs fixadamente down until you find the "body" as if he already knew who was there (and not under the car as it should be). and he would not raise the camera for shooting the driver, he would raise his face and arm would be down with the camera filming the ground (and not his dead friend) like a paparazi.

more detail, if the car ran over the girl, she should be under the car, not beside. and for who was struck and rolled on the pavement at least once, there's no wound on his face.

not to mention that such a collision would throw the body over the hood of the car, and not down the car because it is a low car, not a truck.

for me is just a video to promote the work of the person who did. It's a good video for the curriculum of who does special effects for movies. Have 3 million people with doubts for more than 1 minute over the real nature of video makes it an excellent work.

outra coisa, the camera persegue o corpo.

I'm not satisfied by any of the explanation provided to say that it's fake. I'm not sure about the evidence saying it's real either. But, generally people don't want to accept this as real. If this come out in the news soon, it's real or else it's fake... that's all there is to say. You can say that it's not physically right or wrong...but there are too many dimension. No two accident is ever the same. Experience can't tell and no two humans behave the same way. Just cause you;d throw your cam down and run doens't mean she would...and she might have had a stap on. The MIT students explanation of the persons reaction does say that it may have happened. As long as there is a possibility of it happening, it might have. That's all i have to say. Simple, don't think everybody behaves like you do and don't think every accident would look the same.

    I believe its real
its sad, but its real :(

She's a scared girl who hears a sound she recognize and she stops to get hit by a car
the car was lifted up when it passed over her body
and the screem is so real, and as for the camera you never been in a situation like that however if it happened some of you guys might hold their hands tight at whatever they are holding cause they are scared, so yeah most of you might through it but some others will hold on tight and thats would make the cam point at one direction

am not sure, however i feel its real
and i feel so sad its real

I would say its real, judging from another video which has the accident in slow motion.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgQTONFfRbc

Some say its fake because the person still shoots the video even after the accident. Its certainly questionable as to why the person did that, & its probably the main factor pointing to the video being fake, but I wouldn't say its 100% unlikely. It would depend on how the camera was held or how the video was taken, cause from what i saw, the video was fairly stable, & most videos recorded by hand are awfully wobbly. But that might just support the possibility of it being fake.

Some say its fake because there's no damage to the car, which I find questionable as to how can they tell from such a blur video? Plus, the video doesn't show much of the car. Besides, why would a car be damaged by hitting a person when its designed to withstand high impact?

The reason why I believe it to be true is because the scene where she got hit by the car looked awfully real. Computer generated graphics couldn't possibly be this real.
    As to...
Why didn't she fly off after being hit?
Cause the driver pressed the brakes.

Why was she at the side of the car?
Watch the slow Mo, she fell to the side after being hit, then got ran over...

Why does the blood looked fake?
How can you tell? Just because it wasn't bright red?

Why isn't it on the news or the internet?
Doesn't seem like anything big....aren't road accidents common?

Why did they post it on youtube?
Perhaps as a lesson, pranks are not funny, don't do it.
    Unless properly planned.

Thing is, whether or not its real, a lesson can be learnt from this, & that is not to play pranks on anyone, it isn't fun or funny, & when people are scared or frightened, they can't think straight & bad things could happened.

Fake. When she was hit, The car would of moved up if it ran over her. And it did run over her. Also, you probably drop your camera and run like hell. Or when you run downstairs, the camera shouldn't of been pointed exactly at her face and then up. That old man also looks like he didn't even run over a girl. It looked like why the hell are you in the middle of street face.

The car ran over the girl right? The girl went underneath and in between the car. The car elevated slightly. (1.08 - 1.09 you can even see a hand is still there. I spam pause to review this tape many times!)

Psychology speaking, many refuse to accept the fact that this is real, because sub-consciously, they are afraid to accept the harsh fact in life through what they saw.

This is real, accept the truth, news will be reporting on this real soon.

well you should see jesus getting hit by a bus while singing i will survive youtube it.

I went and watched a bunch of real clips of people getting hit by cars while crossing the street(at various speeds) and not one person was dragged under a car. Besides who would really still be filming after that happened you'd normally drop the cam or forget to film it properly.

@ DesiredConsole you sound like some one who has no idea what they are talking about! If you go to MIT they must have lowered their standards. There is so much wrong with what you said I don't know where to start. Almost every reason you offer up is backed by your opinion and not sound evidence! Try this for a physics.... the position in which the girl's body is at the end indicated that she would've had to have been ran over by the cars front left tire! The car does not go up even slightly..... explain that! Also she would have had tire marks on her and her shirt would show visible signs of distress which it does not!
I hope that your fellow classmates at MIT are smarter than you otherwise our future in physics is looking bleak.

so clear t'was fake. try to repeat the videos over and over at the part where Rachael was hit by the car. start at 1:07 period on the video. She was hit at the back almost standing so thats vertical position and when the car stop she was lying horizontally and her face was out under the car to see that she's dead. Anyway, nice video. Kudos to who made it. =)
