Chunk of Blonde

土 08 3月 2008

After 5 or 6 weeks of napalm orange, my hair was looking pretty yellow and rubbishy. I decided I wanted it orange, with a section of yellow.

The products I used were Stargazer “dawn” and their bleach kit. The 30 vol bleach kit was about £6 and the dye was about £4. I needed to use some leftover “dawn” I had lying around to cover all my shoulder-length hair. I had plenty of bleach left over, though.

I used a clip to hold up the top layers of the left side of my head. After the under layer was fully coated in bleach, the clip was taken out and my boyfriend did all my roots for me.

Then, my head was covered in the dye. I used a rubber glove (lol) and a hair bobble to keep my underside of blonde free of dye. I kept the glove on my head when I washed the dye out, too, to stop it from running into the bleached part. I decided to do this because last time I tried this, I used masking tape, and all the dye just ran onto the parts I wanted bleached, so it had no effect!

It worked great, the blonde section didn’t go orange at all. Although, I did underestimate how much I should have left yellow.
