The Estate: Old and New

When wedding bands from Long Island go bad.

Here's my theory: sometimes, a wedding band can become just too successful. When one gets big enough that they think they can record their own album of 50's and 60's covers -- watch out.

Bad and Worse should be the title of this record. Everything from the sound quality to the photography to the selections of the songs looks like it was done by Joey Buttafuoco one weekend when he had some free time at the garage. Actually, The Estate is made up of Roy Stassi, Tom Stassi, and Sal Stassi -- make that three Joey Buttafuocos.

My copy is signed by the band members and dedicated "To Betty and George" -- no doubt a thankless pair of newlyweds who suffered through The Estate's mediocre drivel on their big day. I hope their marriage was more memorable that this record.

Songs:

Beatle's Medley (Real Audio) This track is nothing if not completely unnecessary. I can't believe this is actually on a record.
BarbaraAnn (Real Audio) This track is pretty awful. I recommend you don't even play it. I warned you.

you should be honored to have ever evenheard the band your a jealous person you only wish you had the nerve and talent theses guys had they are and were very sweet people they have more to do in life then to listen to critism so enjoy your miserable existance play on boys (07-23-2006)

MrSoulSatisfaction says:
The Estate should have been foreclosed a long long time ago.

Wedding bands should never cut a record. EVER!

And to all the family members and friends, you should be ashamed to even admit you know these knuckleheads.

OK, maybe that was a little harsh. What I really mean is, if you truly love these guys, perhaps back-in-the-day you should have persuaded them NOT to make the record in fear of it coming back to haunt them in the year 2004.

Stacey says:
I have been listening to the The Estate for over 15 years and I always enjoy myself.

I says:
That's 15 years of self-inflicted torture. Stacey, you're a true masochist.

I'm done. (07-21-2006)

Family says:

Tom Stassi says:
My brother Roy and Sal said that I would enjoy reading all the bad stuff about the band. I am a first time reader. I am a little reluctant to comment cause I know I'll get some grief. You see most people like to say stuff when they know there has been tragedy in the family. When we did the album it was done for fun and maybe to have someting to look back on when we needed to remember the good time. Now that my Dad and Roy are gone I'll get that chance to remember. I'm sure some smart ass will have something nasty to say but I guess they either don't have family they are close to or family at all. I can't and won't try to control what the critics think. It was a fun time back then and now it's time to move on. I did find most of the comments kind of funny. It's like we used to say, if the orignal groups could hear these songs they would be rolling their eyes. I hope this Web Site stays for a little while longer. My brother would have been 53 next month. Tom (06-13-2006)

Just want to let everyone know my brother is doing great, anyone with any negative responses please do not contribute to our website. As we all know we are not perfect, however, at this time I ask to reflect on themselves, if we are so perfect maybe we can replace Jesus Christ on the cross, with that may God bless my brother. A follow Musician (Herzog_02@hotmail.com) says:
Back in 2004, Roy arrived at my house on a loud noise complaint. To Roy?s surprise I was playing my Gibson Les Paul Custom with a brand new Fender Hot Rod Deville. Roy cleared the call to dispatch. Roy played Hotel California with my family as on-lookers. I would later run into Roy as he asked me if I still had the amp and if I would ever sell it to give him a call, I later sold the amp to Roy. Thank you, Roy, for the experience to have met you and the time you played. My heart felt sympathy goes out to Roy?s family. (12-25-2005)
