PS Jailbreak
The first PS3 modchip has arrived and PSX-SCENE is the FIRST site to CONFIRM it is 100% REAL!!!
PSX-SCENE is the first any ONLY website to CONFIRM that this product is working 100% Not by speculation but by being the only website to actually have testers with actual product in hand! We will have a video courtesy of OzModchips soon so stay tuned!!!
I have been in contact directly with the manufacturer and can confirm some things you have all been asking about...
1. FAT32 is currently supported. They are working on NTFS.
2. They recommend staying on current firmware and not updating until they have deemed it safe. The dongle is fully updatable.
3. Online play does work but they cannot guarantee that it will work with all future titles.
4. Final retail units are ready to ship.
5. Official reseller list will be on their site in the next 48 hours. You can pre-order from any of the official resellers. There are websites out there now claiming to be selling but they are not legitimate. Don't get ripped off. Wait until the official list is posted.

PS Jailbreak is a USB plug and play solution that installs in seconds, keeping your valid warranty seal in tact.

Two different people in Australia have received test units. These guys would have to be batshit crazy to send fake samples out to people before they've taken any orders.

One of my 'aussie' buddies that got a "test unit", claims it works.
I going to see if I can get one up my way soon here in Canada to try out.
Happy Time is Here.
Time to throw in some more RAM into the server to handle all the new PS3 users.

Seriously I do not believe it. Their web-sight looks like fake-web-sight. I have seen like those fake-web-sights before.
He even didnt show any homebrew running on ps3.
Guys how can we believe it if even demonhades and other hackers couldnt hack ps3 yet, but this so called "psjailbreak" could?
I think it is usual fake...

I know the website is crappy.
But I got word from two people that it works. -- I have know these people for decades, and they are in the business to make money, and not beat around.
The only way I think it is possible, is somehow the famous "usb-jig", the Sony factory tool has been cloned and modded somehow to be useable.
Tell well time. -- Please wait for more info, the trusted testers will be posting more info soon.

Well screenshots look real, so probably it is not fake.

On the other hand, I'd want to get my hands on this before Sony kicks up a shitstorm to get rid of it.

Ok, so while its dumping I can post some info
this is how it works
You go into Game - and you see Backup manager
you enter into it, and it will give you a warning about piracy.
Then you get a list of all the games you have dumped on your HDD, and also the game that is currently inside your drive
hover over a USB game, and you can press x to load, ot trianle to delete the game
Or X to load and O to backup if the disc is inside.
If you want to load a game via USB you press Load...screen goes blank for about 5 seconds, reboots to the Ps3 dashboard, then you can see the game in there like its a disc.
tada!

Does it require a dedicated partition for dumped games on USB drives?

Several sources are currently testing. PS3 games are quite large, so it takes time to install. We will have video as soon as it is confirmed actually working.

It will be interesting to see if it works on "ALL" games or just a select few.

Games take a while to dump....
it seems to go to 70~80% when 10 minutes
and then the last 20% takes a while
video will come, and will be posted here first, just be patient

Rumor has it that the "new generation of homebrew" is going to be built with an old leaked official SDK, at least initially.

Sounds like a progress bar that counts by number of files instead of amount of data; used to see those pretty regularly in old PC software installers. Some of the progress bars in licensed PS3 software are kind of quirky too, come to think of it.
