"I HATE MY COLLECTION": Saint Martins unveiled
I am a final year fashion student at Central Saint Martins. About this time next year the historic and important college will move from its Soho site and join other branches of CSM in a new purpose-built development in King’s Cross.
As it is the end of an era for this legendary institution, I have found it meaningful to make a documentary film about the art college and the old St Martins school building on Charing Cross Road for my degree work. I am a first time film director, I have a year to make the film and to convience all the most famous and important CSM alumni and legends of fashion to talk to me and share their memories. I also work as a Junior editor of Acne Paper.

Sara Arnold - Saint Martins dinosaur
Sara is one of those rare fashion design Saint Martins students who still in the year 2010 make their own clothes. And she looks absolutely fantastic , that’s why you can always see her photos in coolest fashion magazines, she was in the first issue of LOVE, Another Magazine etc , and now doing a photoshoot with Tim Walker.
The generation of Galliano and Stephen Jones and all those new romantics, they were spending their Fridays afternoon to make clothes to go out. Now it’s all very different, not for Sara though :) She is not only making her own clothes but also along with her bf organizes a club night, check it out WWW.PEARLFLASH.COM
I met Sara for a cup of coffee in Soho to talk to her about Saint Martins and her clothes. Unfortunately I forgot my Dictaphone so I had to do it in the old fashioned way. It’s just my hand writing is so dreadful I cant understand anything I wrote, so I guess I will have to email her the questions…
I do have some visuals though. Me and Raphy ( photographer) we went to Sarah’s fabulous house in Old street to take some pictures.
