日本におけるモバイルコンテンツ市場は、2006年度で前年度比129％増の9285億円（モバイル・コンテンツ・フォーラム調べ）となお成長を続けています。世界的に見てもモバイルコンテンツ市場は、今後成長が続く市場として期待されており、2011年には1500億ドルに達すると予測されています（英Informa Telecoms & Media調べ）。
2001年設立の株式会社イオレ（本社・東京、以下「イオレ社」）は、「デジタルメディアの『総合出版社』」としてスポーツ・ニュース・エンターテインメント等各種モバイルコンテンツの企画･運営に携わっている成長企業です。
2005年、イオレ社は日本最大級のモバイルメーリングリストサービス「らくらく連絡網（http://www.ra9.jp）」を開設しました。このらくらく連絡網は、登録メンバー間の「連絡網」機能と登録団体内限定の「クローズドコミュニケーション」機能を持ち、簡便な操作で利用可能なことから、幅広い年齢層、様々な団体に利用されています。現在の加盟団体数は約９万７千団体、ユーザー数は約125万人と日々増加を続けています。
