A Japanese graphic designer has been confirmed as the man to post the huge milestone-worthy 20 billionth Tweet.

At 7:44 PM Eastern Time today, the user GGGGGGo Lets Go (awesome name, by the way) posted a message in Japanese that hasn't been easily translated. According to Computerworld, it had something to do with a conversation about another user who had just joined Twitter.

Moments later, though, he was made aware that his Tweet was the 20 billionth one in the world. He posted a reactionary Tweet that Computerworld translated to mean:

"It looks like I posted the 20 billionth tweet. I'm getting replies from people all over the world. It's scary. What are the chances? Maybe I'm going to die. Is it more amazing than winning the lottery? I thought it was a joke."

The 10 billionth Tweet was posted just five months ago. That is about 770 Tweets every second for the last five months. That's truly incredible. Some 300,000 new users sign up for a new Twitter account every day. It is a full-time job keeping the Twitter servers up and running from an enormous amount of data sent through every second of every day from every part of the world.
