Lot Notes

Ce pastel est un ricordo que Noël Hallé exécuta d'après un tableaux qu'il peignit au cours de son voyage à Rome en 1744 et qui fut exposé au Salon en 1748 (N. Willk-Brocard, Une dynastie, Les Hallé, Paris, 1995, no. 12). Le tableau aujourd'hui perdu est connu d'après une esquisse (collection privée), la gravure de Patour sous le titre Le danger de l'amour, et notre pastel.
