Lot Notes

The Daoist longevity theme employed by the use of both Shoulao and Xiwangmu, Queen Mother of the West, who in mythology resides in the Western Paradise where peaches were thought to provide immortality, suggests that this pair of ruyi was probably offered in a presentation box as a birthday gift.
