ALA inks Takayama

ALA Promotions

ALA Promotions has signed former WBA and WBC minimumweight champion Katsunari Takayama of Osaka, Japan. In a recent move on going global, ALA Promotions is starting to sign fighters not just from the ALA Gym to fight under its banner and Takayama is one of the first fighters to do so. He is set to headline a boxing presentation by ALA Promotions entitled Best of Boxing 1 on Saturday at the Mandaue City Sports Complex.

Arriving just three weeks ago and now training at the famed ALA gym, the Japanese boxing dynamo is working hard to win his third world title and is setting his sights to challenge IBF champion Nkosinathi Joyi of South Africa who recently bagged the IBF title against Raul Garcia of Mexico via 12 round unanimous decision last March 26, 2010 in South Africa. Takayama has beaten Filipino contenders Rollen del Castillo of the ALA Gym, Elmer Gejon, Fabio Marfa and Mating Kilakil.

ALA Promotions is making a comeback at the Mandaue Sports Complex where a lot of big names jump-started. World champions Rodel “Batang Mandaue” Mayol, Malcolm “Eagle Eye” Tuñacao and other big name boxers like Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista, AJ “Bazooka” Banal, Z Gores and Milan Melindo rose through the ranks by fighting here.

Best of Boxing 1 is planning to showcase heavy-handed knockout artist Bon Jovi Canillas in the supporting main event. He promises to give all he can to knock out his opponent and live up to his reputation.

Best of Boxing 1 tickets are available at the ALA Promotions Office in Talamban with Telephone Numbers (032) 2364611 or you can purchase your tickets at the Mandaue Sports Complex @ (032) 343-8056. Best of Boxing 1 is a presentation by ALA Promotions.
