Bug Database Search

If we don't know about your problem, we can't fix it. If you've isolated a problem that you think we're causing, and you can't find it here, submit a bug! Make sure you include all the relevant information including all the details needed to reproduce the problem. Submissions will be verified and prioritized. (Please note that bug fixes are not guaranteed.)

Frustrated with a JDK bug that never got fixed? If you have a fix for a nagging bug or a clever solution or enhancement that you'd like to contribute to Sun, THAT'S GREAT! -- we'd love to see it! We are now accepting contributions from the Java development community via java.net. See How to Collaborate for additional information on making contributions to the JDK.

  Bug Watch
Bug Watch lets you keep track of the bugs that are most important to you. When a bug in your watch list is updated, we will send you an email notification alerting you to this fact.

A Word About "non-public release"
You may notice that some bugs are marked as fixed in a "non-public release." This indicates that the bug has been fixed in a version of the product that has not yet been made available to the general public. Once a release becomes available, either through the early access program or officially released, the Bug Database will then reflect the actual release name. This is to avoid confusion which would arise when bug fixes do not make their original targeted release.

Bug voting

Which bugs in our collection are most important to you? Cast your three votes on any open bug. You can cast them on three separate bugs or all on the same one. Your votes have a direct impact on how we prioritize our bug list. Check out the list of recently closed bugs to see the impact of your votes.

When a bug you have voted on is closed, you will receive an email notification.
