- ripple123, on 04/07/2010, -8/+452WHOA INFOGRAPHIC, FACTS ARE BEING THROWN AT MY FACE! THIS MUST BE WHAT LEARNING FEELS LIKE!
- mbonzo531, on 04/07/2010, -23/+386Fast food is ***** delicious and anyone who says otherwise is lying to themselves. The facts are that this food is chemically engineered in response to our evolution around fighting for the food with the most calories. As delicious as it is, it needs to be treated like a drug and eaten in moderation.
- wutimatang, on 04/07/2010, -1/+305Fact: Fecal Coliforms (bacteria found in feces) can be found everywhere! Escape from the poo is futile.
- afdlips, on 04/07/2010, -3/+265I worked at McDonald's. I loved it. It was mostly really chill blue collar people that worked there and they knew how to make the best of their situation. Then we were bought out and all the management got fired. Suddenly i became the only person who spoke english there. i was this sketchy "gringo" that all of the kitchen referred to as "cabron". Apparently that means "*****". I quit when i got a job at a mexican restaurant that only hired white people. Strange country we live in.
- juliusthecat, on 04/07/2010, -4/+171Carl's JR - "***** YOU I'M EATING!"
- Imortus, on 04/07/2010, -3/+158I hate that ***** FECAL BACTERIA *****. Yes, coliform can be found in some soda dispensers, which is a bacteria that can also be found in feces, but every site that references it has to go out of their way to emphasize FECAL BACTERIA. They want you to believe that fast food personnel are sticking the nozzles up their asses or something. Irresponsible and sensationalized.
- afdlips, on 04/07/2010, -3/+120***** off man. I was 16. they gave me a job, gave me food, and helped me work up enough money to buy my first camera. Now Im a photographer.
- Maddawg579, on 04/07/2010, -2/+115Your toothbrush most likely has fecal matter on it. Get used to it.
My opinion is that if I can't see it, taste it, and it doesn't really affect my body in any major way, then I don't care. Microscopic spots of fecal matter are exactly that. - juliusthecat, on 04/07/2010, -0/+100I know that replying to my own comment is weird but if you ever want to eat at Cicis again don't read this.
Ok so I (unfortunately) used to manage on of those hell holes. Let me tell you the deal with the fecal matter on the drink dispensers. It comes from other peoples nasty fingers. I was took my job seriously for some reason and did my routing bathroom checks. Every day at lunch, and I do mean every day, at least once while checking the bathroom I would witness someone go directly from taking a ***** then leave the bathroom without washing their hands. I usually followed them out. They always went to the same place immediately - the buffet line. I really had homicidal fantasies all the time at that job (so ***** glad I don't work their anymore). People are disgusting pigs esp the ones who frequent those ***** holes. Moral of the story - avoid places that are cheap ***** holes if you like not eating *****. - SplashBot, on 04/07/2010, -0/+83When I add shoe polish, titanium dioxide and detergent to my home made burger it does not taste as good as ones in McDonalds... What am I doing wrong?
- GregLoire, on 04/07/2010, -0/+83Job enjoyment is often more about the people you work with than the job itself.
- trizzleatl, on 04/07/2010, -2/+83LOL that they compared average calorie intake of America to four impoverished African countries.
- Maddawg579, on 04/07/2010, -2/+76That doesn't mean it's not delicious. I feel like crap after eating a double bacon cheeseburger and fries from Jack In The Box, but that doesn't mean I wasn't in Heaven while eating it.
- 13point1, on 04/07/2010, -7/+77Not lying when I say that I can't stand fast food. After I eat it, I feel like a brick has settled into my stomach. Feeling lasts all day. It's enough to make me swear that ***** off.
- bliz20, on 04/07/2010, -17/+74STOP EATING THAT *****
- KibblesnBitts, on 04/07/2010, -1/+49Soda is quite honestly the most marked up product anywhere. If you go to Applebee's for its half price appetizers before you're 21, they're basically giving you them at no profit. However, order a soda, and you will be helping their profits greatly.
When I worked at an Auntie Anne's pretzel shop, I was always told to push selling soda for the same reason. - AndrewWiggin, on 04/07/2010, -1/+47dugg for sounding like an expert
- scarlettletter, on 04/07/2010, -2/+43As weird as it sounds...the Big Breakfast platter in Hawaii is served with rice and spam! SPAM!
- fantasyflamz, on 04/07/2010, -2/+43What about Dihydrogen monoxide? That too long for you? Guess what, it's water. I'm not saying that having lots of chemicals isn't bad for you, my point is that posting the full name of something by it's chemical compounds isn't that impressive.
- kinerry, on 04/07/2010, -6/+46Hate to say this but this information is outdated and just inaccurate in so many places it's almost laughable.
Two that stick out:
1. Yum! Brands consists of A&W, Taco Bell, Long John Silver's, Pizza Hut and KFC.
2. McDonalds stopped using animal products in their fries years ago once the vegetarians mounted protests when they found out (not that it matters, potatoes and tomatoes are carnivorous).
Also, who cares how many cows the meat comes from, what does that change? - slogans, on 04/07/2010, -2/+42Mmmmmmm Fecal Soda
- GregLoire, on 04/07/2010, -2/+39I don't know. I loved McDonald's when I was a kid, but then I went years without eating it as an adult. I went in a few months ago and ordered a Big Mac expecting it to be a sort of nostalgic guilty pleasure. I was actually really surprised at how bad it tasted. I'm really not a picky eater and it's not like I had trouble finishing it or anything, but I was still kind of surprised. It made me wonder if there's an acquired taste for fast food that you can lose after awhile or something. I have no idea. Maybe it was just a bad Big Mac.
- Fluiquid, on 04/07/2010, -0/+33dugg for having the same opinion as me
- Hu99, on 04/07/2010, -0/+33Not much gets past you, huh, Cabron?
- JeffRyemon, on 04/07/2010, -1/+34THAT, IS A TASTY BURGER!
- bills534, on 04/07/2010, -0/+31My first job was at a Hardee's (Carls Jr.) best job I've ever had. I worked with a bunch of friends and we just screwed around all day and ate a bunch of free food. I worked at McDonalds after Hardee's closed and it wasn't the same at all. So yeah, its just the people you work with really.
- mbonzo531, on 04/07/2010, -0/+31I agree with you there. My tongue loves White Castle, but my stomach doesn't.
- Hu99, on 04/07/2010, -0/+31Actually "cabron" means soda-fountain head.
- densetsu23, on 04/07/2010, -2/+33I'd also recommend not breathing in the bathroom. Or anywhere, really. Take a walk outside and you're probably breathing in bacteria from the dog poo in the park.
Bacteria is everywhere. In moderation -- like the amounts found on drink dispensers -- it keeps your immune system in shape and is ultimately good for you. - javy925, on 04/07/2010, -0/+30thanks for that nugget of information
- thealliedhacker, on 04/07/2010, -8/+38Also found in fast food:
Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) is a colorless and odorless chemical compound, also referred to by some as Dihydrogen Oxide, Hydrogen Hydroxide, Hydronium Hydroxide, or simply Hydric acid. Its basis is the highly reactive hydroxyl radical, a species shown to mutate DNA, denature proteins, disrupt cell membranes, and chemically alter critical neurotransmitters. The atomic components of DHMO are found in a number of caustic, explosive and poisonous compounds such as Sulfuric Acid, Nitroglycerine and Ethyl Alcohol.
Just another reason why half the crap in this graphic is FUD - jjason1985, on 04/07/2010, -1/+30Titanium dioxide is also in toothpaste and about a million other products. It is fairly safe for consumption.
Dimethylpolysiloxane is actually Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). It is medical grade silicone and breast implants, a huge piece of PDMS, are pretty safe. It is widely used in the food industry, even outside of fast food.
Fast food is generally low quality and pretty gross, but the author is trying to scare you. Just FYI. - opmike, on 04/07/2010, -0/+29If there's ***** in the soda, you can bet there's ***** somewhere in or around your food. Especially if the employee(s) didn't wash their hands after using the bathroom.
There's ***** everywhere - therumster, on 04/07/2010, -2/+27Well that certainly makes me want to avoid fast food as much as possible for the next few weeks... thanks....?
- joshmoney, on 04/07/2010, -0/+23The funny thing is the small amounts of bacteria are probably far less harmful to your system than the soda.
- BenDoverTW, on 04/07/2010, -1/+24THERE IS NO MIDDLE GROUND!
- 4rp4n3t, on 04/07/2010, -2/+25Seriously, good for you. I was 18 when I tried it, lasted 9 days then couldn't do it any more.
- umanomano, on 04/07/2010, -0/+22ENJOY McDONALD'S CHOCOLATE TRIPLE THICK⢠SHAKE! NOW WITH LESS FECAL MATTER!
- Shogun213, on 04/07/2010, -0/+22Not putting enough in?
- MisterDeerwood, on 04/07/2010, -0/+22That's clearly the only alternative.
- juliusthecat, on 04/07/2010, -1/+22spam! spam! spam! spam! spam! spam!
- Auto, on 04/07/2010, -0/+20Don't forget, Dihydrogen Monoxide is a key chemical compound in stain remover from clothes and carpet, and is found in most every window cleaning solution known to man.
You wouldn't drink cleaning solution, would you? Yet you eat food contaminated with DHMO every day. It's time to end the scourge.
/s (you posted exactly what I was thinking when I read the "chemicals found in fast food" portion) - GorfTron, on 04/07/2010, -0/+20If you drink from a fountain that has been up their ass, it gives them the advantage.
- SilentJ, on 04/07/2010, -0/+20Dugg for being dugg twice before me.
- cme884, on 04/07/2010, -1/+20Yeah, I think we got that.
- MercenarySlick, on 04/07/2010, -1/+19Americans only seem to consume twice as many calories daily as the people in starving Africa countries, that doesn't seem that extreme to me. Either we eat less than I thought we do, or those poor starving people eat a lot more than I thought they do. I was under the impression people there get like a cup of rice a day if they're lucky, so I imagine it's the latter.
What's hilarious is that I probably only eat about 2000 calories a day which puts me on par with Rwandans. I'm not particularly skinny or famished, and I work out 3 days a week. - Masomlejn, on 04/07/2010, -2/+20I want McLobster!
- Tenareth, on 04/07/2010, -1/+18Read a book. SPAM saved Hawaii.
- bills534, on 04/07/2010, -0/+17That's why I only pay with ass pennies.
- KJSatz, on 04/07/2010, -0/+17Door handles don't taste good.
