Decorated on the exterior with two gilt-highlighted iron-red dragons pursuing flaming pearls against a white-enamel sgraffiato wave ground, interior and base in deep turquoise enamel

The hallmark, shen de tang zhi, may be translated, 'Made for the hall for the cultivation of virtue', a Daoguang imperial mark.
