  • I hate IE wont go back EVER

Firefox nearly unusable? Stupid addons?..The fact is firefox is second most popular browser should testify otherwise..

I am a web developer, I cant imagine life without firefox addons. Although chrome is closing in fast but it does not yet replace firefox on my computer.

    You are an idiot.
  • LOL, and Lynx?
  • lol
  • alliesrosey
I have personal experienced far fewer problems since switching to Opera than I had when i used IE. I must admit, though, that Opera is a little faster, takes less room on my desktop, has more intuitive interface options, and has a much nicer tab system than IE. Of course, I think in the end it comes down to personal preference. After all, regardless of how many vulnerabilities you fix, there will always be new ones. That's the problem with security. Nothing is completely safe. Keep your scanners updated and running.

    Really nice :)
But I think I'd disagree on the firefox bit. Agreed Firefox is slower with lots of 'unnecessary' add-ons, but it can be as fast and as light as Chrome, if you disabled the add-ons.
And now that Chrome has also put add-on functionaility, it's getting slower.
  • Meteora
    Opera is the fastest
No developer can leave FireFox because of it's add-on s
    Chrome comes in between two.
IE is used by most so developers have no choice :(
  • I would like to see a mobile browser version of this post. Ideas?
  • ed_inc
wow... damn creative n nice! that's y i like chrome so much! hahhaha...
  • I know you are!

    What about Camino & Flock?
  • Well, in that case, why not Gnucat, Iceweasel, Seamonkey and Iceape? Heck, why not add Lynx and wget in there, while you're at it.
  • Very good "D
  • Chrome for browsing and development.

Firebug, YSlow, Pagespeed on Firefox for Optimization and Advanced Stage Development
  • Epic #fail: add-ons in firefox are OPTIONAL.

Without addons firefox is better than with????
  • lav
ya..I love "that" stupid firefox.. funny_:)

Opera is IE6 in a tux. looks great, but just fucks up some CSS implementations for no good reason. When building sites, the majority of my problems are IE6 & 7 (annoying but fixable thanks to conditional comments), and Opera (annoying and unfixable as no way to reliably target spcifically). Thankfully Opera's slice of the market share is measured in Planck lengths ;)
  • Eduardo Alvarez
I'd like to see an actual example of this. I've never, ever seen bad CSS implementation from Opera.

IE is best for corporate use. Too bad this article was written by college grads that have never seen a corporation from the inside. I'd say that a man with a briefcase and an earpiece would be the right picture for that one.
Chrome has a lot of add-ins now, and comparing this feature to Firefox, I'd say that if Chrome improves its development tools a bit more, it will be better for me than Firefox, in ALL aspects.
Safari is pretty neat too, I'd never place a bike to represent it. It's too dull.
Opera is just very different, in all aspects, but the most universal browser ever, and fast. A slick swiss army knife with a rocket would represent it well.
Firefox would be something like those neodymium balls from which you could build whatever you want, bloat it as much as you can, but it does fall apart from time to time.

Anyway it's clear that the article is written by people who hate Microsoft products that are designed ALSO to fit enterprise needs. Apple was also rudely mocked.

Subjectivity... Some people just can't live without it.
  • rezon
duh.. article?! it's a picture dude. This article was written by college grads? this comment was written by college grads.

IE is best for corporate use, mostly because of a tradition of corporate web apps (payroll systems, etc) written exclusively for it. This isn't something inherent to IE that makes it superior in this regard, and indeed, is a big factor holding people back from upgrading to newer versions of IE - applications that can't handle IE7 or 8, never mind Firefox, Chrome, etc...
  • Alexander P.
also true. Besides that IE has a much more complicated security policy, which is good for enterprise. It also creates a lot of problems and headaches for web developers, but at least the benjamins don't get touched by strangers.
  • RamoN
I totally agree with you Velazquez,

    Chrome
is my main browser since I like the way it looks, works and it has all the (optional) extensions I like to use. Which are: Bit.ly, Chrome Flags, ChromeReload, Delicious Tools, Evernote Web Clipper, FastestChrome, Feedly, Firebug Lite 1.3.0, Google Mail Checker Plus, LastPass, Pendule, Screenshot and StumbleUpon.

In Firefox I have the same extensions installed as above mentioned and it's definitely my second choice.
Use Chromifox Extreme 3.6 and it looks slick.

Opera 10.50 looks more or less the same as any modern browser so I don't know if you are totally up to date. It's a transparent tabbed browser and has alot of OPTIONAL plugins and extensions available too.

Safari I'm not too thrilled about but that's because I don't like the looks, don't like the way it works and don't like the options it provides.

I guess the fanatics that call themself individualists, Leaders not followers, Creative persons who have a mind of their own and than run to the Mac stores like headless chickens to buy the latest toy that has an apple for a logo might like it. LoL Sorry just being sarcastic :-).

    IE is gone bye bye.
  • M. Velazquez
If FF is unusable because of all the stupid add-ons well.... don't install any stupid add-ons!! They don't come pre-installed, the user isn't forced to install them. Comparing FF with a bunch of add-ons installed to the other browsers is wrong, you have to compare FF, or any other, without any additional stuff.
  • Karthik.K.N
I dont think chrome is that fast.....It takes years to load a PDF file in chrome..and some time it never loads and says.."An I/O error has occured". It may be a problem with Adobe reader too..i dont know exactly..
  • RamoN
roses are red, violets are blue, Fire & Chrome and the rest has no clue
  • sandrina_di
    This is not true
  • The reason for Firefox being unusable is one of the oddest claims I've ever seen. First, you don't have to install any addons. Secondly, using addons makes adds huge amounts of awesome functionality. If you think an addon makes your browser unusuable, don't install that addon.
  • peterfedric
Very unique interpretation with pictures. It made me smile. And I am FireFox user. And I think the addons are quite helpful and good in themselves. In fact that what's make it more better to use and different from others. I think FireFox is for everyone. I just want to say FireFox rocks!!!
    ration pack
  • raj
    Awesome analogies :)
  • The addons are what makes Firefox the best browser ever.
  • I just started using the Firefox. I do like the add ons
  • Ben
neither of them are funny nor accurate.
  • rev087
OMG, I'm a <geek_profession> and you totally screwed up at browser <any_but_IE> because of <random_personal_choice_semi-fact>. You guys should totally <internet_slang>.
  • That Chrome image is a touch phallic.
  • ooohh!!!! thats all true!!!
  • Raphael M
You don't have to use all the addons in the world, y'know.
  • yere
Opera is the fastest. have u tried it?
  • Booo,,,have you tried chrome?? Opera load very slow,,, and some picture or javascript not loaded!! Useless!!
When you uses Opera, u must ready open another browser,,,, most javascript not loaded.
  • Not in my experience. Best UI and Opera 10.50 is incredible fast.
  • opera 10.50 is the fastest
  • Opera is faster, when it is working.
Most of the times, it does not.
  • no, chrome is faster
  • Ivan
you clearly just playing favourites without performing a proper test. Opera no doubt is the fastest. Next is Chrome.

To the author, funny analogies but you have to be really stupid if you install all addons you see. There's no more usable browser than Firefox. I've tried to replace it but haven't been able to because of its very USEFUL addons.
  • goldiesowers
I concur firefox has been the best for me too.
  • o yea for sure its impossible to replace FFox once you have the right addons. Why would anyone wanna switch?
  • Firefox dude
Firefox with right addons owns everything. Single add one of ad blocker single handedly owns rest of the browser.
  • shobra
    No, it's not. :P
  • Yes it is
  • no it's not!
  • Alex
    yes it is

  • I lost track. Which browser was faster?
  • oscargodson
    Opera is
  • No anymore,
Chrome is faster! And it looks better!

    Suck on that opera!
  • Batman
    No, I'm Batman.
  • No, you're not!
  • Robin
    Yes, he is!
  • I know u are
    Rabbit Season!
  • fobat
    I hate IE,love Chrome only!
  • Firefox is even more usable with its add-ons
  • metoera
    Yes, it is.. LOL
  • No, it is not.
  • rezon
    CHROME FTW!
  • If you would seriously look to some of the currently available benchmarks the rankings are as follows (check the dromaeo benchmark suite):
    1. Chrome
    2. Safari (And I am not biased ranking it so highly, because I HATE IT (despite being a mac user))
    3. Opera
    4. Firefox
    5. IE
  • Got to take that back, opera is now officially the slowest available browser: http://ic.tweakimg.net/ext/i/imagenormal/126881...
  • Check the names in the stats you posted. Opera 10.10 was slower than most. Opera 10.5 is the fastest ;-)
  • RaphaelDDL
    Co-co-combo breaker!!

ps.: Fenrir's Sleipnir Browser is the best.

and ie <8 MUST be disallowed. - IE 8 is cool - but it'S ie.. you understand xD
