Inter-Korean Forum on 'Comfort Women' to Be Held in April

An inter-Korean forum will be held next month to discuss issues regarding women who were forced into sexual slavery by Japan during World War II.

The Korean Council for Women Drafted for Military Sexual Slavery by Japan says two North Korean groups have accepted a proposal made by the council last December to hold a joint conference to seek ways to resolve the so-called "comfort women" issues.

Details such as the venue, participants and discussion topics will be decided over the next few weeks.

The council says the event will be especially meaningful as 2010 marks the 100th anniversary of Japan's colonization of Korea.
