Training at Kitsilano

Today the Canadian women short trackers skated at Kitsilano arena for some extra ice time. We were greeted by some of the local club members who helped us get the mats on and off the ice for our training session.

It was a simple technical training session but with the local skaters there it became something more. It was a reminder that we have abundant support behind our team as we compete at the Games. It was a fun atmosphere in the rink during training and while the Olympians and fans enjoyed an autograph signing session after the practice.

I met Sammy, who has been skating for 4 years (he's 8 years old) and also Andy, in the photo below.
