what exactly does pb_system 1 do? 9/3/03 9:40am
i have always read people suggesting to turn pb_system on but what exactly does it do?

What it does exactly is known only to the PunkBuster guys.

What it does approximately is that when set to "1", PunkBuster will use a different method of scanning your PC's memory for cheats. pb_system 1 is said to be the more efficient method. The reason that both "0" and "1" are there is that some systems do not respond well to a type "0" scan (i.e. crash or encounter CPU lag), whilst others have problems with "1". Just try both and see which one works best for you.
