[clamav-win32] "program files" vs %ProgramFiles%

Hi Thile,

you are right concerning the Program Files directory. It is not as
flexible as beeing able to install it in any given directory.
To achiev that, the simples way would be to use the path the program was
started from. You then would only have to specify the path, if the
config file was outside the ClamAv directory structure.
Nevertheless using %programFiles% would at least help to install it on
every given localized windows version.

Cheers
Wilhelm

But the command line option is still needed to choose a totally different application directory, lets say z:\antivirus\clamav. The system wide environment variable would not help in that case. The only possibility apart from the command line would be to let the installer write the path to the registry and clamd.exe use that value and the relative path \conf\clamd.conf to locate the config file. I for myself like programs, that don't use the registry. I am happy that Nigel offers the files comprising clamav apart from the installer msi, so upgrading is just stop the daemon and copy over, uninstalling is just deleting.

In the config file change the path of data, temp and program dir accordingly. I mangaged to run the deamon on d:\clamav some time ago, it is possible.
