Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>basics (more info?)

I did a Windows update last Friday because I was having printing command
issues. One of the updates - KB967715 keeps re-offering everytime I re-boot.
I went to the windowns update log in the cmd line and it was successfully
installed, but after the re-boot, the aut updates finds it agaian and wants
to install it. Here is the text from the update log since the reboot
2009-03-30 11:49:35:468 3816 eec Misc =========== Logging initialized
(build: 7.2.6001.788, tz: -0400) ===========

C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exe
2009-03-30 11:49:35:468 3816 eec Misc = Module:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\wucltui.dll
2009-03-30 11:49:35:468 3816 eec CltUI AU client got new directive =
'Download Approval', serviceId = {7971F918-A847-4430-9279-4A52D1EFE18D},
return = 0x00000000
2009-03-30 11:49:35:468 3816 eec CltUI AU client creating UI plugin,
clsid={3809920F-B9D4-42DA-92E0-E26265E0FB89}

I went to the directive on How to Disable the Autorun functionality in
Windows, and used the Group policy to Turn off Autoplay (autorun?), and have
installed KB967715 in Safe mode, but it keeps re-offering. I'm not
comfortable with editing the registry at this point, so are the any other
viable suggestions?

As an addendum, when I go to the Windows update Center, it doesn't find the
update and the little exclamation icon in the toolbar disappears.

I fixed the issue. I guess this is a common bug when you have Roxio
installed. I deleted the program Roxio DLA and all is well.
