Five Americans, who were detained and expelled after staging an illegal demonstration at Everest base camp in Chinese - controlled Tibet, vowed to step up their campaign. They were protesting against China's plans to take the Olympic torch over Mount Everest and through Tibet ahead of the the Beijing Olympic games.
