Use NTFS to set a deny all ACE on the file, then nothing can run it. Will the toolbar work, I can't say, but I'm also confused why anyone would care about third-party browser toolbars continuing to function. |

Re: Can I eliminate GoogleToolbarNotifier.exe?
It appears in startup, and I believe it is a standalone from the toolbar. It also has it's own folder. The way I got rid of it was to delete the entry in the registry and its folder. Iti s suppsed to have been fixed in the latest You can eliminate it if you uncheck the box "Notify me on setting change". For the first version of the newest ToolBar, unchecking had no effect. GoogleToolbarNotifier was still loaded For the newest version of the newest ToolBar, it is supposed to be fixed. But I have not confirmed that, so far. Stephen Howe |

My running processes lists the toolbar notifier. In program files I'm not allowed to delete the notifier from Google folder, but I deleted the toolbar from add/remove programs. In registry its listed as 'stopped' so it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Is it or isn't it doing anything and can I get rid of it entirely? |

Re: Can I eliminate GoogleToolbarNotifier.exe?
If you uninstalled the Google Toolbar from Add/Remove Programs, simply boot the computer into Safe Mode and delete the .dll from there. Do this by repeatedly tapping the F8 key as the computer is starting up. This will get you to the right menu. Navigate using your Up arrow key; the mouse will not work here. |

Re: Can I eliminate GoogleToolbarNotifier.exe?
I had the same problem. I had find this new process, which apparently was installed at the same time as the last update of the Googletoolbar. I used the software mentioned here - What is GoogleToolbarNotifier.exe ? |

I have been so frustrated with Google products lately. I managed to get Google Chrome installed when installing the latest Google Earth. I don't recall seeing any prompt asking to do this. I have recently removed Google Toolbar as it's a PITA to get rid of Google Updater and GoogleToolbarNotifier. If they made it optional to have these things running I might reconsider. |
