Re: Firefox 3.6 Support (Updated January 27th 2010)

Hello Everyone,

Here is an update on the status of our support for Mozilla Firefox 3.6 with our IPS Technology as well as The Norton Toolbar.
We are certifying the updated IPS drivers and Norton Toolbar intensely to ensure compatibility, and plan to continue to test through next week. If no issues are found, we plan to release the updated patches during the second week of February.
FAQ:
1) When do you plan to support Firefox 3.6 with IPS and The Norton Toolbar?
We currently plan to have an update available the second week of February.
The Norton Toolbar currently works with Firefox 3.6 and Norton Internet Security 17.5 installed.
2) Which products will you update?
The update will be available for the following products:
Norton Internet Security 2010
Norton Internet Security 2009
Norton AntiVirus 2010 (IPS only)
Norton AntiVirus 2009 (IPS only)
Norton 360 3.0
3) Am I still protected even thought IPS doesn't function with Firefox 3.6?
Yes, you are still protected. We have many layers of protection above and below the Firefox IPS plug-in. Traditional IPS engine in the kernel and other technologies such as BASH and static engines will provide protection even when the Firefox plug-in is not enabled.
4) Is there any recommended action to take while awaiting the update?
You may hold off on upgrading to Firefox 3.6 until the product patches are available. However, please keep in mind that you are still protected with the technologies mentioned in FAQ #3.
