Tuesday 12th January 2010 @ 18:00pm
The prolonged freeze over Christmas and the early days of January caused a dramatic increase in broken water mains. The ground will move as the thaw continues during the week beginning 11th January and this will cause further damage and breakages to the water mains, resulting in increased loss of water. All areas are experiencing reduced water pressure
In addition, the following areas are currently without water:
Northside
Finglas
Cabra
Killester
Coolock
North Circular Road (some sections)
Southside
Rathgar
Rathmines
Terenure
Portable water will be available from stationary tankers at the following locations as of 16.45pm 12/01/10:
As a precautionary measure water from tankers should be boiled before using for drinking or cooking purposes.

Please call 01 222 4221 or 222 0600 to arrange for a tanker to call to the elderly or those most at need.
Both mobile & stationary tankers will need to be replenished. They will be available until 8pm, depending on demand.
