Critical vulnerabilities have been identified in Adobe Illustrator CS4 (14.0.0) and Adobe Illustrator CS3 (13.0.3 and earlier versions), on the Windows and Macintosh operating systems. The vulnerabilities could lead to arbitrary code execution. Adobe has provided a solution for the reported vulnerabilities. It is recommended that users update their installations using the instructions provided below.

Installation Instructions:
To install the Patch on Microsoft Windows:
1. Quit Illustrator CS4, if it is running
2. Browse to the location and backup the file:
    <Install Location>\Adobe Illustrator CS4\Support Files\Contents\Windows\MPS.dll
3. Download the provided file and uncompress/extract the contents
4. Place the MPS.dll inside the folder (same as step 2)
    <Install Location>\Adobe Illustrator CS4\Support Files\Contents\Windows\
5. Delete the Illustrator preferences. The Illustrator preferences files are located at
    Windows XP: {drive}\Documents and Settings\{user}\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS4 Settings\
    Windows Vista: {drive}\Users\{user}\AppDataRoaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS4 Settings\
6. Launch Illustrator CS4
To install the Patch on Macintosh:
1. Quit Illustrator CS4, if it is running
2. Browse to the location:
    <Install Location> Adobe Illustrator CS4/Adobe Illustrator.app
    Ctrl+Click and choose Show Package Contents
3. Browse to the location and backup the folder: Contents/Frameworks/AdobeMPS.framework
4. Download the provided file and uncompress/extract the contents
5. Place the AdobeMPS.Framework folder inside the folder (same as step 2)

6. Delete the Illustrator preferences. The Illustrator preferences files are located at
