The Australian Opera Studio is a world class school of Opera right here in Australia and has been operating for only a few years but its private funding has ended and it can't afford to keep its doors open for much longer.

Unfortunately despite great efforts with local and State governments, no financial assistance has been obtained and it can no longer afford to pay its rent or continue its teaching of young opera singers.

It is situated in Midland, Western Australia and was started by Guildford-born and internationally renowned opera singer, Greg Yrisich, with his own money and funding from generous overseas donations. It produces and performs a 5 star opera almost monthly and has many students learning from the renowned artists teaching there.

It also performs weekly Master-classes for the public to attend (which are almost free) which delve into the intricacies of the art of Opera with the performers and teachers.

While Opera is not everybody's favourite music style or performance, it is such a shame to lose such an important organisation which really puts Western Australia on the map and produces international talent capable of the world stage.
