AKIKO!!! Well I wouldn't be surprised if she skates the best...but unfortunately it probably won't give her the title.

Wouldn't it be killer if Aikko won and Yukari was second and Miki was 3rd.
Wonder what they would do? Because I think this could be possible! |

Miki is guaranteed a spot on the Olympic team because she placed the highest (2nd) at the Grand Prix Final. So, even if she completely bombed and came in 10th, she's still guaranteed to go.

Yes, but what a statement it would make if she didn't make the podium at her own national championship!

Whenever I read people saying in other threads that Miki robbed Yukari's spot to Torino in 2006, I feel really sad...Of course, Miki has never robbed anyone's spot!
So, I decided to post this post before someone says that again in this thread! In Torino Olympic season, JSF adopted a rule of selection that points would be given to skaters according to the placements of competitions in 2 seasons before the Olympics. (When this rule was adopted, Miki was the national champion and no one thought her condition would get so worse, so, don't think this rule was made for Miki!) Here is an evidence to prove Miki's innocence: Points BEFORE Nationals 2005 1. Miki Ando - 1865 points 2. Yukari Nakano - 1643 points 3. Yoshie Onda - 1564 points 4. Shizuka Arakawa - 1560 points 5. Fumie Suguri - 1550 points Points AFTER Nationals 2005 1. Miki Ando - 2215 points(1865+350) 2. Fumie Suguri -2150 points(1550+600) 3. Shizuka Arakawa - 2060 points(1560+500) 4. Yukari Nakano - 2043 points(1643+400) 5. Yoshie Onda - 2014 points(1564+450) That is, no matter what Yukari's results at Nationals 2005, whether Yukari had get a ticket to Torino or not, Miki was selected according to JSF's rule. Though I admit it was not a good rule of selection, Miki is not to blame at all!! Sorry if my English is weird... |

Miki is already selected for the team. IMO she should skip the national to train more, polish her program and get ready for the big competition. Let the rest of the ladies battle it out for the remaing two spots. =)

I'm hoping Mao can start her big comeback at Japanese Nats. I'd like to see Akiko grab the silver.
