Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Client and Windows XP SP2 Support Ends July 2010

With Windows 2000 Server and Client and Windows XP SP2 support ending July 13, 2010 are you aware of all the resources available to help you move to a new client and server operating system?

We have created a End-of-Support Solution Center to help with the planning of your migration strategy from Windows 2000 or Windows XP to Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2.

Client Migration

There is no supported migration path from Windows 2000 to Windows 7 using the User State Migration Tool (USMT). You must first upgrade to Windows XP and then migrate to Windows 7 with USMT 4.0 included with the Windows Automated Installation Kit (AIK).

    Uhhh did you perhaps mean: "You must first upgrade to Windows Vista and then migrate to Windows 7"

    Because that would make a bit more sense.

    If we upgrade XP to Windows 7 then we need to have a exact Graphics card that support Windows 7. I install Windows 7 on my PC . Everything is working fine but my Graphics card (ATI radeon 9200) don't support Windows 7. What do i do now ? I need help.. please anybody help me  .

    The MAZZTer,

    I did mean Windows XP since Windows 2000 is not considered an upgradeable program to Windows 7. If clients want to purcase an upgrade to Windows 7, they must be on Windows XP or Windows Vista. Windows XP compatabiliy is closer to Windows 2000 than Windows 7 so the statement makes sense.

    Saif,

    ATI never created a driver for the 9200 for Windows Vista. I would assume since they did not for Vista, they wil probally not do it for Windows 7 as well. You may want to post this issue in the Windows 7 Forums to see if anyone has come up with a workaround outside of running the XP driver in compatability mode.
