New Free US Based VPN Service - AlwaysVPN
1. What is AlwaysVPN?
Like Hotspot Shield, AlwaysVPN free service is provided for free by showing advertising at the top of web pages that you view while you are using the AlwaysVPN network. AlwaysVPN is a hosted virtual private network. Our service creates an encrypted link between your computer and our servers and then forwards all of your internet traffic through this link. You can use it as a Hotspot Shield alternative.
Do note that AlwaysVPN is still in beta. It’s currently can be used without limit on traffic or bandwidth or speed. This could make it useful also for streaming video or audio. If you're trying to get to the U.S. version of the iTunes Music Store, or if you'd like to watch videos at Hulu and you're on vacation in Mexico, AlwaysVPN can mask your traffic as coming from a U.S. location.
2. Using AlwaysVPN.
AlwaysVPN client program is available for Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OS X and Linux (Ubuntu / Debian). You can download AlwaysVPN software from http://alwaysvpn.com/.
After the client program is installed, You will see an icon in the right corner of your Windows desktop. The Virtual Private Network connection can be started by right clicking the AlwaysVPN icon. Now open your Internet browser, you can visit Hulu outside the U.S, or just get youself anonymous on the Internet.
