3rd Laser Ceramics Symposium : International Symposium on Transparent Ceramics for photonic applications

Paris - Auditorium Curie CNRS - 8 to 10 October 2007 [some photos]

October 11th, 2007 : after conference, visiting tour of MegaJoule Laser in CEA-CESTA

Dear Colleagues,

We want to warmly acknowledge all the attendants to the 3rd Laser Ceramics Symposium for the large audience from 16 different countries and the success they insured to this event.

Organised after the previous editions in Poland (2005) and Japan (2006), the 3rd Laser Ceramics Symposium in France have enlarged to all types of functional transparent ceramics.

Large topics have been presented: precursor powder synthesis, sintering, physical characterisations and functionality test.

We feel confident that the presence of so many outstanding scientists, such as the members of the International Advisory Committee, was a guarantee for the success of this Symposium.

For the proceedings, we request all the participants to email the paper's title and the authors's name to lcs@enscp.fr, before October 31st, 2007. The proceedings will be published as a special issue of "Optical Materials" after selection, refereeing and acceptance by the Editor in Chief, Georges Boulon.

The 4th Laser Ceramics Symposium will take place next year (november 2008) in Shanghai in China. The web site will be available at the end of October 2007. We look forward to seeing you in Shanghai.
