Industrial action expected to impact NZ Bus Services

NZBus services continue to be affected by industrial action.  Impacted services include: GO WEST, Metrolink, NorthStar, Waka Pacific, LINK and City Circuit.

Any industrial action next week (Monday 12 and onwards), will also impact any school services operated by NZBus.

With the end of the school holidays, demand on available public transport and congestion is expected to be especially high next week.  Please allow extra time to get to your destination and consider alternative travel options.

Here's some ideas on how your can get to work, school and other activities:

  • Can you CYCLE or WALK? Can your child join a walking school bus?  Check here for details on groups in your area.
  • Is CARPOOLING and option?  Talk to people you know to see if you can share a ride to work or school.
  • Consider public transport options such as FERRY, TRAIN or BUS services other than those provided by NZBus.
  • There are very LIMITED BUS REPLACEMENT services (listed below) and these are subject to availability.

SERVICES OPERATING AS USUAL

Bayes Coachlines, Ritchies Transport, Birkenhead Transport, Howick and Eastern Buses, Murphys Buses, PBC Travel, Northern Express, Urban Express, Waiheke Island Buses, Tranzit and Airbus Express.

As well as normal scheduled services, any school bus routes operated by the above companies will continue as normal.  Students of Westlake Schools can also use the Bayes Hibiscus Coast to Auckland services which travel via Smales Farm Busway Station.

All train and ferry services will also be operating as normal, however demand is expected to be high.
