Montblanc is over 100 years old, and has had many product lines and designs over the years. Many non-collectors can recognize the Meisterstuck series of pens, but many fountain pen enthusiasts may not know the details about the early hard-rubber series or the 1970s models.

There are some good information sites and articles available on the internet, and I've started this thread for easy reference on FPN. To keep things simple, it will be a single moderator-edited post, and will focus mainly on non-commercial sites with reference material relating to MB writing products.

If you would like to suggest a site or page for inclusion, please send it to me via PM (personal message).

Thank you,
Kalessin, aka Joel

The official Montblanc corporate site has information on current models, warranty, service contact info, etc: http://www.montblanc.com

A tremendous reference site for great pen photos of all eras of Montblanc can be found at http://www.fountainpen.de. The site is at least half in German, but isn't too hard to navigate.

The pen repair site http://www.maxpens.de has pictures of an amazing number of rare and unusual vintage MB pens linked off the front page of the site, which is also half in German.

A good article about the evolution of the 149 can be found at http://www.pentrace....icle.asp?id=405. If you're looking for an approximate year of manufacture, this article may help.

There's an extensive list of MB models and lines at http://montblanc.par.../montblanc.html, though it's not edited perfectly and may contain an error or two.

Another model overview can be found here: http://jim.griffiths...deloverview.htm

This website has some good pictures and information in its History and Reviews sections, though it looks like the site hasn't been updated for some time: http://www.montblancs.net. UPDATE: The website has moved and is now at http://www.azpens.com, and though right now it's smaller than it was, it has some reviews posted, and more Montblanc information will be put there soon by the site owner.

Though this is a commercial site, this particular page has a reference to current models by 5-digit model number:
http://www.londonlug...del_locater.htm

Tom Westerich has posted some PDF's of old Montblanc publications (1956 repair catalog, 1973 pricelist, 1950 leaflet) and an article about the history of the Meisterstück line:
