Kamei denies plan to freeze loan repayments

Japan’s financial services minister on Tuesday denied suggestions that the government would implement a blanket moratorium on the repayment of loans to small and medium-sized companies.

However, Shizuka Kamei said the government would aim to submit legislation to make it easier for companies to seek extensions on debt repayments and alter repayment conditions.
