The decision for the WBO Interim Asia Pacific featherweight title held on 9th. July this year was reversed to NO CONTEST as both fighters engaged in boxing's unlawful activities.
The fighters were Billy Dib vs Kenichi Yamaguchi they fought at Luna Park, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia on the first of channel 10"s 1HD free to air broadcast. Details of the final decision went as follows:
The officials were: Referee: Les Fear Judge: Garry Dean
Judge: Des Bloyd Judge: George Plellis
The outcome was:
The Boxing Authority of NSW at its meeting on Tuesday 4th August 2009 reviewed the contest, received reports from Authority members present on the night, and viewed the video of the contest.
TKO decision favouring Dib was ruled NO CONTEST 2:59 Round 1
The Authority's decision was by reason of what was determined to be deliberate and illegal activity by both contestants during the round.

Fight fans were in awe at Peter Maniatis upgrading of his standards of shows.
Peter has always had a good trouble less following of boxing fans to his fightnights but this time he treated everybody with the availability of a three course meal on a nice layout of tables, he also included the officials at ringside.
Tables all tidy and covered with tablecloths, utensils, serviettes and good waiter service.
Peter stepped his standards upward closer to Brian Amatruda at Docklands and Dave Deicke/Ellis at Melbourne Town Hall, these promoters are now providing Melbourne fans with venue standards likened to Las Vegas.

Prestige Sports Management's David Deicke seen on the right and Keith Ellis continue their successful march up the ladder of promoters ranks and leave little doubt that they have made it in a tough game that does leave a trail of disappointed men wondering why they didn't succeed.
Anyone that has tried it before and had no success should not feel disappointed as there is a lot that is out of one's control and can go wrong when organizing a fightnight. Sometimes luck has to be on your side.
David's theory is to give the fans the best of classy atmospheric feeling which in turn gives them a memorable buzz that can be remembered.

GEALE MADE MANDATORY CHALLENGER TO IBO WORLD

BUT DANIEL'S IBO RESULT PROTEST DENIED
The protest has been denied - the panel of 3 judges scored the
fight almost identically to the fight on the night however
it's a split points to Geale (the 114-113 came down in his
favour). The President scored the fight 114-114 a draw. The
other points were noted but it was found to have no case.
HOWEVER Geale on the weight of his performance and under our
championship rules has been made mandatory challenger that
Mundine must face by February.
SUPERBOXER on channel 10's 1HD First of the series!!! from Sydney!!
ended up in quite an unexpected manner.
After what was going as a successful fightnight the Japanese
import Kenichi Yamaguchi began the first round with unexpected
tactics which created a confusion by rushing like a
madman towards our newest boxing star and attempting to throw
a massive right hand which really was no threat to Dib other
than showing what sort of a sportsman he was.
The audience saw Dib trying to gain composure for some time
unsuccessfully as the the Japanese fighter kept his unusual
tactics which only ended up in placing both boxers off balance
to the point where they were falling over one another.
This had nothing to do with channel ten's 1HD organization of
the show nor the Sydney promoter of the event.
These were a select group which are hindering Australian
Boxing in NSW time and time again.
We at YVB look forward to seeing the next of the series in
Melbourne Thursday 16th July.
Furthermore rethinking where these events should be taking
place will be an important issue for channel 10 1HD.
The commentating by professional boxing standard needed

Daniel Geale's manager
lodges official protest against judge
By Bernie Pramberg June 02, 2009Pre-fight protests
against Queensland judge Derek Milham at last week's Anthony
Mundine-Daniel Geale IBO super-middleweight clash fell on deaf
ears.
Geale's manager Bill Treacy, who will this week lodge an
official protest to the International Boxing Organisation on a
number of issues, has revealed he had complained about
Milham's appointment before the bout.
"I complained, but the promoters insisted he stay," said
Treacy. "In the past Derek Milham has been involved with
Mundine and the World Boxing Association in certain boxing
matters. I was told that the IBO and WBA would sort out our
concerns about having him as a judge last week. But nothing
happened."
Milham, who resigned as an Australian National Boxing
Federation official two years ago but continued to work for
the WBA, scored the fight 116-113 to Mundine. It is alleged
Milham has assisted the Mundine camp to negotiate past bouts
within the WBA organisation.
English judge Marcus McDonnell went 114-113 for Mundine while
American Richard Green favoured Geale 115-112.
Treacy's written complaint to the IBO will also include
alleged verbal intimidation of McDonnell during the fight by a
pro-Mundine spectator and why referee Garry Dean had to
interrupt the fight on five occasions when tapes on Mundine's
gloves came loose.
"It's okay for the judge to say he wasn't intimidated, but it
leads to a state of mind when someone is screaming over your
shoulder," said Treacy. "It should not be allowed.
"We will also examine the videotape to see if a wet towel was
applied to Mundine's gloves so the tape would not stick."
Amazing decisions; when two judges form
the numbers...
Mundine the new IBO world
middleweight champion
Anthony Mundine has won his third world title after
claiming Daniel Geale's IBO middleweight crown in Brisbane.
Mundine almost had an early win when he
scored a knockdown in the second round of their 12 rounder.
Geale quickly recovered and took the fight to Mundine most of
the time to end up with both fighters exchanging very fast
coordinated combinations which kept the fight very exciting
and keeping the result very much in doubt.
The
rounds were interrupted by tape unusually coming loose and
dangling from Mundine's gloves which hindered Geale on several
occasions.
Geale the Sydney-based Tasmanian kept up his attacks to hold
his own against "The Man" and go the distance, only to lose by
a split decision.
Mundine now has 39 fights for 36 wins 3 losses
It was Geale's first ever loss in his 22-fight professional
career, now 22 fights for 21 wins 1 loss.
YV
thought that Geale fared better in the points department.

Mundine casts Taylor aside
February 11, 2009 - 11:59PM
Anthony Mundine won a unanimous points decision over veteran
Shannan Taylor in their WBA middleweight fight in Wollongong
on Wednesday night.
In Mundine's first bout at the lower weight, the two-time
former super middleweight world champion showed he had lost
none of his speed, winning every round to likely send
36-year-old Taylor into retirement.
In a scrappy encounter that never reached any great heights,
Mundine landed far more punches and dictated terms without
inflicting too much damage on the Bulli Blaster.
Taylor was lucky not to be disqualified after using elbows,
head clashes and low blows to try to pull off an unlikely
victory and he was clearly outboxed.
Already the No.1-ranked WBA middleweight contender, Mundine is
perfectly placed for a world title fight against Felix Sturm
in his native Germany later this year, although a re-match
with Perth's Danny Green also appears a strong possibility.
Mundine improved his record to 35-3, while Taylor dropped to
48-7, with three draws. as seen in

Ringside Report: Armenia's Vic
Darchinyan proves to much for Jorge Arce, stopping him before
the final round to keep a firm hold of his WBC, WBA and IBF
titles
Photos by Tom Casino / Showtime
ANAHEIM, CA - This time, media members picked
Vic
Darchinyan
to win, and this time, they were right.
The "Raging Bull" successfully defended his WBA, WBC and IBF
titles with a TKO stoppage over challenger
Jorge
Arce
after eleven rounds in front of a raucous crowd of 5,450 at
the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Darchinyan wasn't as the stalker he was in his last fight,
which also ended in a stoppage by knockout over
Christian
Mijares,
but Darchinyan slowly got into an offensive rhythm to which
Arce, (51-5, 39KO's) could not answer to.
Darchniyan's momentum began in the second round, as he began
to land his left hand with force, with Arce returning fire,
yet not as effectively as the reigning super flyweight
champion.
Arce landed his first major punch midway through the third
round as the two proceeded to exchange in attempts to gain the
momentum factor. Arce also had a productive fourth round, in
which he landed a solid left hook to begin the round, and was
able to land three to four punches in succession.
In the sixth, seventh and eighth rounds, Arce succumbed to the
constant left hands from Darchinyan. Arce waiting to find
openings in Darchinyan's offense, and there proved to be
little. Darchinyan was able to apply more offense in these
rounds, and won them simply due to more punching output with
an advantage in punching power.
In the tenth, Arce was able to land an occasional right hand,
but failed to either follow up on his punches or seriously
hurt Darchinyan, who walked through Arce's punches with ease.
Darchinyan was able to land solid, effective punches in the
30th minutes of the fight, which left the right side of Arce's
face swelled.
The eleventh and decisive round was all Darchinyan, as Arce
fell prey to big shots that left Arce's already swelling eye
in a worse condition. He was battered against the ropes
several times, and nearly stopped before the bell rang, ending
the round.
After the round, ring side physician Paul Wallace suggested to
referee, Dr. Lou Moret, to stop the fight based on Arce's
badly cut and swelled right eye, and the fight was ended, with
Darchinyan first winning over his journalistic critics, who
predicted he would lose to the then favored Mijares in
November of last year, then proving them right with their
predictions of this fight and in the process retaining his
championship titles.
Heading into the final round, Darchinyan, (32-1-1, 26KO's) was
massively ahead on all three judges' scorecards, 109-100.

Vic Darchinyan to fight

Vic has recently on Nov. 1st

division against Cristian Mijares and is about to get

bad mouthing by the latter in recent times. The showdown is

Vic has entered a league in

We would think that all the

Jorge Arce, one of boxing’s
most brash talkers, is no longer clamoring for a fight against
WBC super bantamweight champion Israel Vazquez. Arce has now
set his sights on WBC/WBA/IBF super flyweight champion Vic
“The Raging Bull” Darchinyan.
“Vazquez had his shot, but he waited too long to make a
decision and quite frankly, I think he was scared of the match
up,” Arce said. “I can only hope that Darchinyan won’t run for
the hills like Vazquez did.”
Arce, who fights two divisions lower than Vazquez, has been
chasing the fellow Mexican-native for quite some time. Most
recently, Arce called out Vazquez after his fourth round TKO
win over Isidro Garcia just two weeks ago (Saturday, Nov. 1).
“I really wanted the fight against Vazquez,” Arce said. “But
this is a business and right now a fight with Darchinyan makes
more sense. Let’s see how much guts the so-called ‘Raging
Bull’ actually has.”
Arce has a record of 51-4-1, with 39 knockouts. (as seen on

Young Victor calls out the
ANBF and the Australian Boxing and Combat Board of
Control
The result of bad floor management is
going to massively take its toll on our sport if something is
not done about it very soon.
The spoiling of a good venue called The
Nitro Fight Night at Central Coast Leagues Club was carried
out by a small amount bad fans that don't know how to behave.
Heavy penalties should be placed on
these types by police which should be in attendance.
Police presence should be compulsory
with heavy fines to the participants.
Young Victor was under the impression
this was compulsory in some states. Australia has been
producing a very long list of world ranked boxers unseen for a
long time and this is due to vast connections with WBC, IBF,
WBA, WBO and other sanctioning bodies like our regional OPBF.
The Nitro Fight Night promotion at the
Central Coast Leagues Club in NSW ended in controversy on
Friday night when a wild brawl erupted inside and outside the
ring after Ahmed Elomar had scored a devastating 1st round
knockout win over highly touted prospect Willie Kickett.
The previously unbeaten Kickett had exploded at the opening
bell, hurting Elomar with a series of fast straight right
hands. 25 year-old Elomar 15-1-2 (8) gritted his teeth in
weathering the blows, but appeared hurt and wobbly on his
legs. Just as Kickett moved in for what could have been his
own knockout win, Elomar launched the punch of his career, a
perfect overhand right which landed on Kickett’s chin and
knocked him out cold before he even hit the canvas.
By Young Victor: Its a shame it happened
as it took all the colour out of an exciting win for Elomar
and hopefully a good lesson for Kikkett to never underestimate
any fighter regardless of rank, I ko'd a fighter in the first
60 seconds of an unbeaten fighter when usually I would just
use the first round as a feeler for the opponents style.
Same thing he attacked to overwhelm me and bingo he was out
for 60 seconds.
Our Boxing has been going so well, we should help it along not
hinder it. I am positive hye will get to a world title, this
has just slowed his pace down
I hope Kickett learns from this, if he does it has done him no
harm, everyone needs to know his boundries.

Darchinyan says Mexican is
scared of him
Vic Darchinyan loves to knock his opponents out in the early
rounds but the fiery Australian southpaw has a different plan
for Mexican champion Cristian Mijares.
Darchinyan's fight plan for next week's historic super
flyweight boxing unification fight in Los Angeles is to punish
Mijares until the 12th round and then lay him flat on his
back.
"I'll touch him, play with him, destroy him and then knock him
out in the 12th round," Darchinyan told AAP on Thursday.
The November 1 bout at LA's Home Depot Centre is historic
because the winner will become the first to unify the super
flyweight division.
Darchinyan is risking his International Boxing Federation belt
while Mijares, rated the No.6 pound-for-pound boxer in the
world, is putting his World Boxing Council and World Boxing
Association titles on the line.
The champions have traded plenty of verbal blows at press
events in the lead-up to the fight and Darchinyan said he will
make the Mexican pay for his words.
Mijares, 27, has accused Darchinyan, 32, of being scared, slow
and not smart.
"He's trying to give himself confidence and show that he's not
scared or afraid," Darchinyan said.
"Well, I think he's scared and afraid of me."
Darchinyan will hold his last sparring session at his base in
Las Vegas Friday and on Sunday will fly to LA for the final
week of his preparation.

Nervously calling upon Alex's apartment

unconscious, barely breathing and in near-death condition.
Rushed to a nearby hospital and feverishly worked on for over
an hour in order to be resuscitated, Ramos spent the day in
critical condition with a grim prognosis.
After battling for many hours Alex has been transferred to the
Intensive Care Unit. He is currently on a respirator; his
condition has been stabilized, but has not regained
consciousness and is in a drug-induced coma, to rest his

Latest word is that Alex's eyes are following the direction of

him off the respirator sometime tomorrow.

TACOMA, Washington, USA (Aug.
3, 2008) – “The Raging Bull” Vic Darchinyan promised a
highlight reel knockout and delivered one bone-crunching left
hand after another. The Armenian-born Australian stopped
Russia’s Dimitri Kirilov in the fifth round to earn the IBF
junior bantamweight championship, his second career world
title, Saturday night on SHOWTIME.
The SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING telecast in the USA
originated from the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Wash.
“I have learned a lot from my last few fights,” said
Darchinyan. “I was very focused and ready for this fight. I
never under estimate my opponents.”
Kirilov, who had never been stopped in 33 professional fights,
could not handle the destructive power that Darchinyan brought
to the 115-pound fight.
Darchinyan used a consistent jab as a range finder and mixed
in monstrous straight left hands and a few uppercuts. From the
outset, he landed one big punch after another.
Early in the fifth, the accumulation of punches took its toll
and Kirilov went down for the first time. After regaining his
feet, Darchinyan pounced and sent Kirilov down again just
seconds later. Referee Earl Brown reached the count of 10 at
1:05 of the fifth.
“I would like to have a rematch with Nonito Donaire,” said
Darchinyan, who improves to 30-1-1 with 24 big knockouts. “But
who ever they put in front of me, Christian Mijares, Fernando
Montiel, it doesn’t matter. I love to fight.”
The game Kirilov (now 29-4-1, 9 KOs) spoke to SHOWTIME
reporter Jim Gray immediately after the fight. “I feel okay
physically. I am disappointed that I lost the fight. I took
the wrong approach. Freddie Roach was telling me to move to my
left and throw combinations, but I couldn’t get off. I
couldn’t do the work that I normally do.”

by Young Victor
Azuma Nelson came into the ring
first and got a loud ovation by the large crowd in attendance.
Fenech came in to a huge standing ovation, little different to
the years back in 1992 when he fought Azuma at the Princes
Park Football Ground in Melbourne.
Jeff Fenech put his Aussie critics that were badmouthing
this event back in their armchairs.
Little did they expect that these legends can put on a show
that satisfied logical thinking people and gave exactly what
could be expected from two well past world legendry champions.
Jeff outsmarted the professor by few simple but effective
techniques that worked to a tee which after all that’s how
fights of world status are fought.
Obviously this could only work between fighters of their level
of knowledge.
Jeff crowded Azuma for most of the fight with close encounters
which to the inexperienced eye would look like fouling and
would have expected the referee to make them break.
This did happen whenever they eventually got tangled.
After getting broken up by Melbourne's very experienced
referee Malcolm Bulmer, Azuma would throw and sometimes land
his bombs, some landing and looked like creating havoc however
Jeff kept to his game plan and ended up in close quarters
again where he was best performing.
The fight was reasonably full of action and exciting, quite
unexpectedly, little did they pause and when they did this it
was just for a very short while.
The 9th. and the 10th. Rounds.
Fenech coasted for the last two rounds and sensibly kept out
of Azuma's attempt to put him away.
It was very well expected at this stage that Azuma Nelson
would be going for a stoppage to win the fight and it was
obvious that Johnny Lewis instructed Jeff to use the ring and
that he was well in front on points and that all he needed was
to be there in the finish.
The decision was popular despite the wooing at Jeff's lack of
action in these last two rounds.
Jeff fought to a plan which was executed to perfection.

Heath is very gifted with boxing natural
ability but like most fighters he tries to make tricky moves
which makes one look more professional, well!! with fighters
like Paderna he was way out-experienced and realy needed to
dig back into his basic defences of boxing and make sure he
does not allow big bombs to land especially on the jaw.
I just hope that the damage done does not effect his
confidence as anyone's jaw would have broke with the same
blows and to make sure he does not allow more punches like
those to land ever again.
The kid is brilliant and to make it worse he has a huge name

moving up the ladder.

Green set to hang up gloves
AUSTRALIAN
light-heavyweight boxer Danny Green is expected to announce
his immediate retirement from the sport today.
Green, who won the World Boxing Association title in front of
his home fans in December, had been scheduled to make his
first defence against mandatory challenger Hugo Garay at
Challenge Stadium in Perth on April 27.
Less than two weeks ago, he shelved plans to train in Perth
for the fight and flew to Sydney to prepare for a bout that
was expected to be another step towards a lucrative rematch
against nemesis Anthony Mundine.
Sources close to Green said he had been sharp during a
sparring session on Saturday.
But it is believed the 35-year-old stunned his family and
management team on Sunday when he revealed his decision
following a restless night of soul-searching.
It is believed Green, who had 25 wins (22 by knockout) and
only three losses in a seven-year professional career, decided
to quit while he was at his peak.
Family considerations are almost certain to have played a
pivotal part in Green's thinking.
Beyond the defence against Garay, Green Machine Promotions was
lining up a bout against Roy Jones jnr and a money-spinning
clash with Mundine.
Green's 2006 fight against the Sydney boxer was one of the
most eagerly anticipated in Australian boxing history.
After losing to Mundine, Green won his next three fights by
knockout before winning the world title with a unanimous
points decision and sending Stipe Drews into retirement.
"I've persevered and pushed through a lot of pain and this is
what it's all about," said Green, after winning the WBA belt.
